Jucishan Rock Painting is located in Jucishan at the junction of Zhengzhou and Xuchang, and at the junction of xinmi city, Dengfeng and Yuzhou in xinzheng city. The rock paintings of Jucishan in Xinmi are mainly distributed in Dintanggou Village at the southernmost tip of Goutang Town in southern xinmi city, as well as Shi Niu Shan and Dahongshan in Huaishuling Village. It is 4 kilometers long from east to west and about 600 meters long from north to south, and it is widely distributed. There are more than 3,000 stocks, including more than 200 Xinzheng and more than 30 Xinmi. The rock paintings of Mount Juzi were discovered in 1988 and attracted attention.
Rock paintings mostly appear in the form of grooves, caves and grids. Round holes are made by grinding, and grooves and grids can be made of hard percussion stone tools or metal tools. In addition, there are ancient villages on the top of Shi Niu Shan and Dahong Mountain, and the surrounding and interior of the villages are concentrated areas of rock paintings. In the investigation, two layers of brown-red paleosol superimposed on the middle Holocene rock paintings were newly discovered, and it is speculated that the formation time of these two rock paintings is about the middle Holocene. This provides a stratigraphic basis for solving the age problem of Juzishan stone carvings.
Thousands of rock paintings have been discovered in Juzi, which are rare at home and abroad, and are of great significance to the study of the origin of characters and China culture. The confirmation of the rock paintings in Juzishan fills the gap in the archaeological discovery of rock paintings in the Central Plains of China, enriches the connotation of the ancient culture in the Central Plains, and provides a new kind of material for studying the ancient culture in the Central Plains, including the legendary Yellow Emperor culture, which has important academic and cultural value.
