That is, put it in the graveyard or on the ridge dam at the head of the field, build a coffin-sized platform on the graveyard, hammer it into the ground with four wooden sticks on both sides of the coffin, fix the coffin firmly with ropes, and then wrap the coffin with straw, bamboo curtain, bamboo rope and straw rope (transparent plastic bags were popular outside later to prevent the coffin from being damaged by rain). This practice is called "Autumn", and the grave that wraps the coffin is called "Qiu Zi". It will take three years to be buried, which means that families can be filial for three years, and families can't get married within three years. This is called filial piety for three years!
Wait until the winter of the third year is cold (I forget the specific day, the day before, the day after or the same day), find a "mountain man" (see Yin and Yang master) and several donkey kong (coffin bearers) to open the mound, carry the coffin out, burn all the outsourced grass and rope, carry the coffin to the middle of the road and frame it with a long bench, and put a brazier below, where toilet paper is put to light the bottom of the coffin. We're going to spend the night! Then the mountain people will choose another place to dig graves in the cemetery. Generally, "autumn" and "hiding" are not in the same grave, or not in the same place. In the dug grave, straw and toilet paper should be burned to smoke and heat to drive away evil spirits. The next day, put the coffin in the grave and buried it. There is an oval mound on the grave, with high head and short feet. Each grave bag has a different orientation. The orientation is calculated according to the animal sign and the direction of home before the mountain man's death! After burial, the brazier will be smashed. To do this, you have to shoot and burn paper, insert banners and paper lanterns, and deliver meals. It is inevitable that you will cry again!
When picking up (scraping) the mound, if there are snakes, mice, etc. They won't touch those things under the coffin. Let them go by themselves and they won't die. They are guarding their homes for the dead. Killing them will lead to mildew or death!
For more than 90 years, we have practiced cremation in Shucheng, and there is no more "mound" in this form. Now it is buried directly after cremation!
