In the 10th year of Shaoxing in the Song Dynasty (A.D. 1 140), Jieyang County was relocated, which was the year when Fashan Zen Master founded Jieyang Shuangfeng Temple and became a jungle in the city. The original site is located at the southern foot of Shuang Shan, Guiling, Jiedong County (called Panxidu in ancient times), and the two peaks of Houshan stand side by side. There is a 60-foot-high natural boulder on the top, named "Stone Mother", with many surrounding scenery, which was once called "Two Peaks and Eight Scenes". The temple is grand and spectacular, and it is also known as the three famous temples in Chaozhou, together with Kaiyuan Temple in Chaozhou and Lingshan Temple in Chaoyang. During the blessing festival, the more officials and gentry there are in the city, the more people go to the mountains to bathe and worship Buddha. From the official road to the "top cover mountain" three miles away from the temple, dismount and walk into the temple to show piety. According to folklore, when Shaoxing rebuilt Jieyang County for ten years, geographers thought that "Earthworms" went from the Dragon Neck of Lianhua Mountain to Shuang Shan, with the peak of ***99, and then to Pingchuan in the east, and Yujiao Village was the "clock of gas field". As a result, Shimushan, the 99th peak, became a treasure trove of geomantic omen, and Shuangfeng Temple was built from this. It is a comprehensive precipitation of ancient Jieyang culture.
Shuangfeng Temple has been abandoned and revived in the past dynasties. Secretary: In June (1728), Shuangfeng Temple was destroyed by a hurricane, and all tiles were available. Chen Shuzhi, the magistrate of a county, presided over the restoration work. In the Republic of China 14, Chenzhi County abolished it, and the temple house was used as education funds. Yi Shen Lin Cunhou, Lin Zhongliang and Jubo Primary School initiated fund-raising and redemption to pray. In 1950s, monks in monasteries implemented the policy of "giving equal attention to agriculture and Zen", and divided factories by monasteries. During the Cultural Revolution, Buddha statues and cultural relics were destroyed.
After the reform and opening up, the county people's government implemented a religious policy and decided to build Shuangfeng Temple, restore historical sites and open up tourist attractions. 198610/kloc-0 held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 25th, and ground was broken. After a full 6 1 month of construction, it costs 4 million yuan and has a building area of 2,400 square meters. 19910+0210 held the completion ceremony and the unveiling ceremony of the Buddha statue with unprecedented pomp.
