The History and Culture of Yangcheng Town

Legend has it that Yangcheng was originally named Yaomu "Old City" in the Tang Yao era, and its profound historical and cultural heritage and humanistic atmosphere have continued to this day; In recent years, Yangcheng Town, based on the advantages of a famous town with traditional culture, has paid close attention to the construction of spiritual civilization in various ways, and has held seven exhibitions of farmers' calligraphy and painting and five chess competitions, making civilized fitness activities become a common practice. In 2002, Yangcheng Town was rated as a civilized township by Baoding City, as an "advanced township for hundreds of millions of farmers' fitness activities" by provincial and municipal farmers' sports associations in 2006, and as an advanced unit for spiritual civilization construction by superiors for many times. Cultural undertakings have flourished and the village spirit has been further purified.

Yangcheng ancient town has a history of more than 4000 years. According to the records of Qingyuan County, it was called "Old City" in ancient times. It was originally named after Yao Wang proclaimed himself emperor and built a pension city here for his mother to spend her old age. In the Spring and Autumn Period, the city was located on the north bank of Jiulong River, and the north bank was Yang, so it was renamed Yangcheng.

After meeting Shun, Yao abdicated to provide for the aged. He lived to be 1 18 years old, so later generations praised "Yangcheng Town, Qingyuan, Hebei Province, and Yao Di's mother and son provided for the elderly".

During the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25-220), this place was called "Yangcheng County", which belonged to Zhongshan State and was later preserved in Puyin (now Shunping). At the beginning, the economy here was prosperous and the transportation was convenient. There are post roads leading to counties, docks built on the Jiulong River, and ships leading to Baiyangdian to Tianjin. It has become the political, economic and cultural exchange center of the county. Guyangcheng has a beautiful environment and beautiful scenery. In the southeast of the county seat is Yangcheng Lake, a water town in the north of Fiona Fang, dozens of miles away from the county seat. The water plants are lush, and the lotus root is actually released, and the lotus root is piece by piece. All day, the children drove the boat, digging and picking lotus roots, and children's songs continued. Li Daoyuan, a famous geographer, traveled here and stopped to watch, leaving a beautiful chapter in the famous book "Shuijingzhu Yangcheng Lake", which has been compiled into the Teaching Outline of China Ancient Literature.

From the Three Kingdoms and the Jin Dynasty to the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Yangcheng is famous for its name, geographical location and long history. * * * knew it was a strategic place, a land of geomantic omen and aura. As a result, skilled craftsmen from all over the country were recruited to build buildings, practice palaces, build temples, temples and word halls, and a magnificent ancient building complex spread all over Yangcheng Town. Its architecture is large in scale, unique in style and unique in charm. For example, the large and small Buddha statues in Huayan Temple are treasures of stone carving art in Yuan Dynasty. The statue of Sanhuanggu in Lifotang is tall and magical; Gold makeup color painting, vivid image, can be comparable to Zhengding Buddha statue. The "Sanyuanxing Palace" outside the west gate is a magnificent building with a mountain seal in one corner, which is a wonder of Qingyuan. The layout of the complex is even more ingenious. From west to east, there are Yaomu Temple, Insect King Temple, Wang Yao Temple, Hehe Temple, Quanmiao Temple, Sanyuan Temple, Yaochi Temple, Wang Xi Temple, Wenchang Temple, Notre Dame de Wulong Temple, Zhenwu Temple, Mawang Temple, Huayan Temple, Tianqi Temple, Erlang Temple and Confucius Temple. From south to north, there are Longwang Temple, Kuixing Temple and Confucius Temple. In front of Sanyi Temple, the tall ancient pagoda stretched out four branches, covering four streets under the tree, east, west, north and south. On the right side of the tree stands a towering Chinese fir flagpole. Standing under the big tree and looking around, the temple is blue bricks and green tiles, resplendent and magnificent. The ridges of the temple are strewn at random, with intrigues, dragonflies hovering in clouds, and the heads of animals crouching, which are as lifelike as stepping into the fairyland of gods and buddhas, thus attracting many tourists, pilgrims and literati from all directions to gather here all day. They burn incense, worship Buddha, recite poems and paint, which is very lively. If Dayang Town is filled with cigarettes all day and the ancient temples are ringing day and night, it is a vibrant and prosperous scene.

Looking at the historic relics of the ancient town for thousands of years, and then looking at the bustling market in front of me, I feel the sacred spirit here, which is worthy of being the home of a generation of emperors in their later years.
