Guangnan County is located in the southeast of Yunnan Province, northeast of Wenshan Prefecture, and at the junction of Yunnan, Guangxi and Guizhou provinces (regions). Funing County in the east, Xichou County and Malipo County in the south, Qiubei County and Yanshan County in the west, Xilin County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Xingyi City in Guizhou Province in the north. The land area of the county is 78 10 square kilometers, and it governs 18 townships (towns).
