Fengshan County has a long history of Camellia oleifera planting, especially after 1973 was listed as Camellia oleifera base county by the autonomous region, the county vigorously developed Camellia oleifera production and continuously expanded the construction scale of Camellia oleifera base. By the end of 20 1 1, the county had planted 220,000 mu of camellia oleifera, including 42,000 mu of young forest and 35,000 mu of fruit, with high yield1/kloc-0.5 million mu and low yield of 28,000 mu. Camellia oleifera forests are mainly distributed in 66 villages in 9 towns. Yinqiao, Changzhou, Pingle, Fengcheng, Zhong Ting, Jiangzhou and Jinya are the main producing areas of Camellia oleifera, accounting for 87% of the county's Camellia oleifera forest area. The varieties are mainly local common camellia oleifera and Cenxi soft branch camellia oleifera.
In recent years, with the strong support of the higher Party committee, government and relevant departments, Fengshan County has actively guided the masses to carry out low-yield transformation and scientific management of camellia oleifera, and the county has set off a new upsurge in camellia oleifera planting. Through the transformation of low yield of Camellia oleifera, the seed yield of Camellia oleifera increased year by year. 20 1 1, the county produced 4,449 tons of tea oil seeds with an output value of 44.49 million yuan.
