A long street runs through the east and west. There is an independent high-walled castle in the south, west and north of the city, with a moat and a suspension bridge. Anyuan was once an important town on the ancient Silk Road, an important material distribution center and a dry dock. In the old days, Anyuan had more than fifty or sixty businesses, including department stores, mountain products, medicinal materials, pharmacies, grain, grain depots, pawn shops, hardware, fruits and vegetables, livestock and hotels. Businessmen from Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Shandong, Beijing, Wuhan and other places settled in Anyuan and regarded Anyuan as a treasure trove of geomantic omen. Anyuan Primary School, founded in 1905, has a history of more than 100 years and is one of the earliest new schools in Tianshui. William Wang (word), the founder, served as the secretariat of Xuandelang under Zhang Guangjian, the governor of Gansu Province. The "Gothic" school gate of Anyuan Primary School still exists today, which is an obvious sign of "Western learning spreading to the east". Anyuan was also one of the earliest places to establish a girls' school. 1937, anyuan town girls' school was established, with an initial enrollment of more than 20 students. There were more than 70 students at the peak. 1942, which was merged into anyuan town primary school for various reasons. Today, Gangu No.3 Middle School is located in Anyuan, which is the largest complete middle school in the northern mountainous area of Gangu County. Some high school students in Anyuan, Dazhuang, Yongxing, Lixin and Jinshan Township are concentrated in Anyuan. With its large scale and high teaching quality, the school is the best among rural middle schools in Tianshui area. Anyuan ancient city has experienced a thousand years of history, leaving only a few scarred ruins, telling the desolation and changes of history in the storm and twilight of the times.
