The Chu-Han dispute between Xiang Yu and Liu Bang, as well as the comparison of their tombs after their death, vividly explained the profound meaning of "winning the king and losing the enemy", which was more real than the blunt words signed and printed in textbooks.
In August 206 BC, the battle between Chu and Han broke out, and two political groups, headed by Xiang Yu, the overlord of the Western Chu State, and Liu Bang, the Hanwang State, launched a large-scale war for political power, which lasted for nearly four years. In 202 BC, the battle between Chu and Han ended with the defeat of the overlord of the Western Chu and his suicide in Wujiang River. From then on, Liu Bang established the Western Han Dynasty.
The so-called "the winner is king, the loser is kou", but the fact is that the brand of defeat has not disappeared because of Xiang Yu's despair. After Liu Bang's death, people only saw the difference between victory and defeat, which was thousands of miles away. We can only see some clues from the construction of the cemetery for two people.
Liubangmu
After the establishment of the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Bang became the first emperor in China to rule the world with cloth. During his reign, he made great achievements. After his death, he was buried in Changling, north of Sanyi Village, Yaodian Town, about 20 kilometers east of Xianyang, Shaanxi Province. Because of the ups and downs here, the terrain is mainly mountainous, so the tomb of Liu Bang in Changling looks like a "mountain", magnificent and magnificent. In addition, after Liu Bang, people artificially restored this nature, and Changling looks magnificent from a distance, which is very dignified to match the identity of the tomb owner. Changling is adjacent to Chang 'an Weiyang Palace in the south and Jiusan in the north. The jingwei river, a tributary of the yellow river, flows through the mausoleum area, which can be described as occupying a unique feng shui position.
The structural design of the cemetery is also unique. The overall layout of Changling is rectangular, with a length of 1000 m from north to south and a width of 900 m from east to west. The main body of the cemetery is Liu Bang's tomb. In addition, there are many tombs of different sizes around. The design of the mausoleum is slightly inferior to that of Liu Bang. However, these tombs of different sizes are magnificent in combination, and most of them are famous families and princes, such as Xiao He, Cao Can, Zhang Er, Tian Fen and Zhou Bo.
Xiangyu Mausoleum, the overlord of Xi Chu
It is said that after Xiang Yu committed suicide in Wujiang River, his body was robbed and dismembered by the Han army. Liu Bang was grateful for Xiang Yu's talent, so he presided over the burial of his head in the old city, which is the old county and three villages in Dongping County, Tai 'an City, Shandong Province today. Compared with Changling Mausoleum, Xiang Yu Mausoleum is much simpler. The local people call Xiang Yu's Mausoleum "Overlord Tomb", but there is only a short grave and a remnant tablet in the "Overlord Tomb". After centuries of baptism, some handwriting on the stone tablet has fallen off.
The comparison between the tombs of Liu Bang and Xiang Yu vividly explains the word "success or failure", but it is inevitable to feel sorry for the heroes of Xiang Yu in the past. The local government has also formulated a preliminary repair plan for the "Overlord Tomb". I believe that soon, the tomb of overlord will stand proudly in the long river of history with a brand-new attitude.
