From a distance, these three ancient kapok trees are tall and vigorous, red flowers are like fire, and the trees are covered with lanterns, which is really beautiful. They are arranged in front of the academy in turn, much like guards on guard, guarding this ancient Dongshan Academy. I slowly found the way to these ancient kapok trees and saw a unique "ID card" in front of each tree. After careful observation of their "ID cards", it is found that they are similar in age, height and tree shape, just like three identical brothers, and it is impossible to easily identify who is who.
Unexpectedly, the three ancient kapok trees in front of us are 150 years old. In this 150 spring and autumn cycle, they have gone through a hundred years of vicissitudes, experienced the baptism of bad weather and bathed in spring sunshine. Their branches and leaves are sparse, and there are still some branches left by the leaves of that year. Xinrui has been eager to climb the branches and travel around the world. Huge petals bloom on the branches, attracting the admiration of passers-by. Suddenly, a kapok fell in front of my eyes, and the flowers were dazzling. It didn't drop a petal, so I gently picked it up and held it in my hand. At this time, I remembered the poem of Gong Zizhen, a poet in the Qing Dynasty: "Falling red is not a heartless thing, but turning into spring mud protects flowers more." Isn't this the portrayal of kapok trees?
These ancient kapok deeply attracted my attention. I thought that these ancient kapok must have their own "secrets", so I went into Dongshan Academy to look for bits and pieces of ancient kapok. Dongshan Academy, founded in the 11th year of Qing Qianlong (1746), is the only ancient academy in Meizhou. It was founded by King Jiaying at that time and has a history of more than 270 years. It is said that there has been no champion for a long time after the completion of the Academy. The dean of the college went to consult the master of Feng Shui. After a field trip, the Feng Shui master pointed out that the Kuixing Pavilion in the academy was built too high, with a height of nine feet. You can pick the stars by hand, but it's not grounded. You should plant three kinds of incense. So these three kapok trees in front of the door represent three incense sticks. When I came to the Kuixing Pavilion in the academy, I looked out and saw three kapok trees like three incense sticks, which enshrined Kuixing. With these three kapok trees, the "Kuixingge" of the Academy has a local flavor. Every year, hundreds of students come here to pray that they can be the first.
These three kapok trees witnessed the development of Dongshan Academy. 19 13, Marshal Ye Jianying and other progressive teachers and students founded Dongshan Middle School in Dongshan Academy, which opened a new chapter in the Academy. They must be excited to get along with more energetic students day and night. In the past hundred years, three kapok trees have also witnessed tens of thousands of Dongshan students becoming pillars. Marshal Ye Jianying, Lieutenant General Xiao Xiangrong, Academician Ceng Yi, Dr. Ceng Xianzi and Chairman Ye Chenghai are among the outstanding representatives.
Now entering a new era, the kapok tree also has new hope. They will continue to shelter the college from the wind and rain. They are expecting more and more Dongshan students to contribute to the new era, and they are also pleased that Dongshan students can come back to see them. Kapok is red, as red as the rising sun.
