The principle and working mode of warm air tank The warm air tank of an automobile is simply to heat the airflow inside or outside the car, and then transport the hot air to the air outlet of the air conditioner through the air conditioning pipeline inside the car, thus heating the inside of the car. Generally speaking, there are three heating modes of warm air water tank, namely, cooling liquid heating, gas heating and tail gas heating, and for most cars, cooling liquid heating mode is widely used.
When the vehicle is started, the engine starts to run, and the coolant temperature starts to rise after the engine runs for a few minutes. At this time, the air conditioner and heating can already work. After the water in the engine is pressurized by the water pump, it will enter the heater box from the water inlet, and then the coolant will flow out from the water outlet of the heater box and enter the large cycle of the engine again. No matter the air inside or outside the car, these airflow will pass through the warm air box and be heated continuously when the air conditioning fan works. This is the air conditioning system.
Two ways to judge the failure of the heater box If the heater box of our vehicle fails, there may be two situations, one is corrosion and water leakage, the other is water tank blockage, and the heating effect of the air conditioner becomes worse or even no heating.
Symptoms of heater water tank failure:
1, the heating effect of the air conditioner becomes worse, or even does not heat. Many classic cars will encounter a problem, that is, the heating effect of our car air conditioner will be greatly reduced. Even if the air conditioning temperature is adjusted to the highest, there is only one lost hot air at the air conditioning outlet, which can't play a heating role at all. At this time, it is very likely that the heater tank is blocked.
Judgment method: Open the hood of the vehicle, and two water pipes will protrude from the firewall of the vehicle. Feel the temperature of the two water pipes with your hands. If the temperature is basically the same, it proves that the warm air tank is not blocked. If one is hot and the other is cold, it means that the heater tank is completely blocked. At this time, we can first remove the warm air tank, then clean it, and finally pour in hot water to feel the temperature of each position of the warm air tank by hand. If it is the same, it proves that it can work normally.
2. The water inlet pipe, outlet pipe or heater tank of the heater tank leaks, and the heating effect of the vehicle air conditioner is reduced or even not hot.
Judgment method: Because the warm air water tank is heated by the coolant in the engine, if the warm air water tank leaks, there will inevitably be less antifreeze in the car. At this time, we only need to check the auxiliary kettle of the water tank. If there is no antifreeze, it can basically be determined that the heater water tank leaks.
In fact, in many cases, the blockage or water leakage of the vehicle warm air tank is mainly caused by our long-term use of water as antifreeze, because water is easy to corrode metals, resulting in turbid liquid in the water tank, which will eventually block the water tank and the warm air tank, and even cause serious corrosion and water leakage, so try not to add tap water to the water tank. Long-term use of antifreeze can not only protect the water tank, but also increase the boiling point of the vehicle cooling system.
