Hushi Mountain in Hushi

Hushi Mountain is a symbol of tiger stone and human nature. The origin of place names in mangshi is also named after a huge natural stone pillar on the mountain. Hushi used to be a little-known village, consisting of Dingshe and Beipu (including Qijiaoli). According to legend, as early as the middle of the Ming Dynasty, it was a barren land in the shape of a small basin. The original market town was the "Bingdian" village about 3 kilometers west of here. It is said that there is a north-south long street, extending from Paocuo village in the south to Bingdian village, about 3 Li Long. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the Japanese invaders invaded and rioted and razed to the ground. Up to now, there is a 200-meter-long slate road left in Bingdian Village. Later, the market town went from C store to 2 miles east to Cangdian Xiadian Village. Then he moved to Dingli and Beipu at the foot of Hushi Mountain. At that time, Xincuodian and our first two villages were also small market towns in the Ming Dynasty, so we moved to Nanpu, Houcaiyuan, Tucheng, Yaocuo and Xitianwei. In this way, the north and south meet and become the market place of Hushi Town. Because of the convenient land and water transportation, favorable weather, favorable geographical conditions and harmonious people, the basin is not large, so it is called "cornucopia".

There is a legend about the origin of the place names in Hohhot. According to legend, Hushi Mountain has a towering columnar rock (the top is slightly inclined to the west), which is about 10 meters high and needs 6-8 people to hold it up. According to legend, it is the embodiment of "snake essence", and it looks like "snake" in Li Zhuo, commonly known as "snake stone". About150m south of this snake stone, there is a pile of rocks, which is said to be the embodiment of "turtle essence". From a distance, it looks like a chinemys reevesii lying on the ground. From another point of view, it looks like a big lotus, and from another point of view, it looks like a huge buffalo, so the locals also call it "Buffalo Stone". The hollow in the middle is damp and light yellow, which is called "fairy urine". These two statues of tortoise, stone, snake and stone are opposite, and the north and south are opposite, which set each other off. The top of the snake stone is facing the top of Gong Hu Mountain in the distance, which looks very competitive with Gong Hu Mountain. It is said that Mount Gong Hu grows 3 inches a day, while snake stones grow 3 feet a day. How can Gong Hu Mountain be lower than Hushi Mountain? As a result, the mountain god hit the God of Thunder, and the snake stone was largely smashed into eighteen stone mountains. There is a crack in the middle, which will never be high, but there is a small net stone on the north and south sides of the snake stone, which will grow bigger and bigger.

After being cut off by Lei Gong, the snake stone is more like a man's penis, and the tortoise stone is more and more like a woman's vagina, called a pair of males and females, a pair of yin and yang. Whenever the morning dawns, the snake stone shoots directly at two rocks on Maoshan Mountain in Bingdian Village. The villagers thought it was a snake stone, which was harmful to feng shui, and simply smashed the stone in Maoshan.

In addition, about 50 meters east of the snake stone, there is a pile of rocks, such as the "Lotus Throne". It is said that Guanyin Bodhisattva once meditated here, and later went to save the suffering, leaving this "lotus throne" to bless one side alone. There is a pond about 100 meters southeast of the Lotus Throne, which looks like a cow's mouth and is commonly known as "Niubantang". According to legend, a fairy led a buffalo to live in seclusion. "Niuban soup" will never dry up, which can alleviate the drought in the drought year. "Snake Stone", "Turtle Stone", "Lotus Throne" and "Niubantang" are the four major scenic spots of Shuiyan Mountain. Unfortunately, these four scenes were destroyed in the 1960s.

There is a footprint of a sheep on a stone in Dalugou at the northern foot of Hohhot. It is said that a fairy led the sheep up the mountain to feed. Therefore, the ambitious Yuan Ting and Zhiyuan Temple here are said to be a treasure trove of geomantic omen. The whole village regards it as a treasure. According to the village rules and regulations, people are not allowed to build graves on the mountains at will, but to enjoy the Feng Shui resort for a village. In fact, the mountain in Dalugou is like a big phoenix, spreading its wings and soaring, which is called "Phoenix Cave" by geography masters. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, a family named Chen saw this treasure trove of geomantic omen and moved to Yuhu (now Kuankou). At present, the population of Chen in Dingshe is about 1700 (in addition, thousands of descendants of Chen have moved to Ningde and Jianyang).

At the western foot of Hushi Mountain, it is a flat land with criss-crossing rivers and ditches. According to legend, in ancient times, a dragon descended from Mulan River to make waves and harm neighbors. It is even more unscrupulous to run to the foot of Hushi Mountain, thus leaving today's river ditch. In order to prevent dragons from painting carbon creatures, immortals bound them with chains and covered them with stone towers to curb the dragon's turmoil and make one side safe. This stone pagoda was destroyed in the 1950s. In the 1990s, when the seaside primary school was rebuilt, a small stone tower was built in the original place (the corner of the playground), which made it "useless" for Zhenlong to bless one side. In the past, the playground of Haibin Primary School was always wet and gloomy. No matter how dry it was, it remained the same. It was said that it was Longquan spout, which was very mysterious. Legend has it that one year during the Dragon Boat Festival, the villages near Hushi got together for "Dragon Boat Race". At that time, it was calm, and suddenly there was a storm and thunder, and a dragon boat disappeared instantly. On the east side of the river, there is a hill that looks like a dragon boat. Later generations named it "Dragon Boat Side". There is a row of big banyan trees planted next to the dragon boat, so people don't have to worry about falling when sleeping on the trunk. 1958, unfortunately, this row of lush ancient banyan trees was cut down and used as fuel for steelmaking.

There is a hill in the northwest of Hushi Mountain, named "Yujing Mountain", commonly known as "Lian Po Mountain" (homophonic penis). It is said that it is a cat's nest and a treasure trove of feng shui. There is a tomb of seventeen cities on the mountain, which is given to the magistrate of a county (Huangshi people), the father and son of Huaifeng, and the eighteenth Zhaoqing mansion. The southeast of Hushi Mountain is the "Tokyo Mountain". There were villages here as early as before the Song Dynasty, and the tiles are still discernible. Yujing Mountain and Tokyo Mountain are the remnants of Hushi Mountain, forming a relatively large mountain system.

The snake stone on Hushi Mountain is like a piece of water. People regard it as water, but it is refined into water stone. There are Hushi Palace (also known as Dingshe Palace) at the west foot of Hushi Mountain, seaside academy and civilized bookstore at the south foot, and Champion Tomb (Song champion Wu) and the imperial tomb, (formerly known as National Day Hall) and tianmashan and Wuhou Mountain at the northwest corner. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, mountains and rivers are interdependent, with beautiful scenery and unique geography. Now Hushi Mountain has become the seat of Xiuyu District People's Government, and the history of Hushi Mountain will begin again.
