This statement is not unreasonable. When Xiqiao Mountain was developed, the giant Guanyin statue was not recognized by the local villagers. The construction is somewhat abrupt, and it is also very uncoordinated from the perspective of geomantic omen. When it was built (I don't remember the year, about 2000), a flood washed away the Jiujiang Bridge, and the Beijiang levee was in emergency many times, which made the local people have unfavorable rumors about Xiqiao Mountain.
Custom belongs to custom, and you don't have to believe it all, but personally:
1. Climb the mountain, burn incense and worship the Bodhisattva with perseverance. You can't go for one year and stop for another. That's too insincere. Visit the mountain for three years in a row, or don't go.
2. Young lovers should climb Baiyun Mountain, which is so popular, so few Buddhas, and build their feelings through entertainment, because in this era, feelings can't bear too many heavy and profound beliefs. If your love is eternal witness, then summon up courage to climb the mountain.
