Why is the United States called the empire where the sun never sets? Is it because of geographical map and geomantic omen?

The United States has never called it an empire where the sun never sets. Britain was once called the empire where the sun never sets.

In colonial Britain, colonies spread all over the world, all of which belonged to or basically belonged to British land. At any time of the day, the sun shines on the land of England, so it is called "the sun never sets".

With the rise of the independence movement in Asia, Africa and Latin America, colonies became independent one after another. The so-called "empire that never sets" is a thing of the past, and "prestige" is gone.
