Generally speaking, there are several requirements for placing Buddha statues. First, the place where the Buddha statue is placed should be well ventilated and well lit, and it should not be placed in a messy place. From the perspective of geomantic omen, the gas field will flow frequently in well-ventilated places, which can reduce the accumulation of bad gas fields, while there are relatively few yin qi in sunny places, which can prevent some evil spirits from disturbing the Buddha statue. Secondly, the height of the Buddha statue should be at least higher than the human chest, so as to show the dignity of the Buddha. Third, the Buddha statue can't face the kitchen and toilet, because the kitchen is often killed and the toilet is unlucky, so it is a shady place. At the same time, it is best not to point at the table, which is also disrespectful. Fourth, the Buddha statue should be placed against the wall, which means there must be a wall behind the Buddha statue. Without a wall, it is as unstable as without a backer.
Buddha statues can be placed right in front of windows or gates, as long as they meet the above requirements. If it is placed facing the gate, it is better not to put the shoes next to the gate, or not to let the Buddha see the shoes, which is more respectful. There is no requirement for the orientation of the Buddha statue, because the Buddha and Bodhisattva will not care about these things, and too strict placement will cause inconvenience to the furniture placement. After all, home is not a Buddhist temple, so you should make a choice and not be too professional, otherwise it will be counterproductive.
