According to legend, at the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, there was a monk in the capital who had a profound way of doing things. He often travels around the world. One day, he came to the top of Lion Mountain in Jian 'ou, where he saw beautiful scenery and beautiful scenery. He liked it very much, so he chose to build a thatched shed to live here and meditate and chant Buddhist scriptures all day.
One morning, Shan Jian saw a monk carrying water down the mountain, but he didn't care what he kicked. He picked it up and saw that it was a fist-sized pottery bowl. Although the pottery bowl is covered with mud, it is intact. If you are good at it, take it back to the hut and plan to use it to hold water. After washing the pottery bowl, he scooped up half a bowl of water to drink, but after drinking for a long time, his stomach swelled and he didn't drink all the water in the bowl. Seeing is a big surprise. What's going on here? He grabbed a handful of rice and threw it into the bowl. Soon, the bowl was full of rice, but it couldn't be poured out. "Ah, so this is a cornucopia!" The good monk cried happily. He felt in his pocket and threw a copper coin into the bowl. A lot of money came out of the cornucopia. The good monk used the money to build a big temple under the Lion Mountain, namely Guangxiao Temple.
After the completion of Guangxiao Temple, Shan Jian accepted several young monks as apprentices, and the incense in the temple slowly flourished, and Shan Jian's reputation gradually spread. Somehow, the news of making bowls got out. Many poor people admire Aibo and have come to Guangxiao Temple to become monks, and even various monks from nearby temples have come. At that time, people from Guangxiao Temple came and went, burning incense and worshiping Buddha, ringing bells and chanting scriptures, and it was very lively.
Seeing the prosperity of the temple and the sun, a good monk naturally has to say how happy he is! One day he went to the place where he collected the cornucopia and looked, ah! He could hardly believe his eyes-this cornucopia used to be the size of a fist, but now it is as big as a sea bowl. Tell the columnist to take a closer look at it with his eyes. Yes, this is the bowl! A few days later, with the increase of monks in the temple, the cornucopia grew bigger and bigger day by day, and gradually became as big as a jar. Seeing this, the good monk was uneasy, so he quickly crossed his hands and meditated, closed his eyes and wondered what to do. After thinking about it, he couldn't find any reason at the moment. He always feels that something is wrong. Willy-nilly, it's best to put a golden bell on the cornucopia first to stop it from growing.
I don't know. Admiralty can't hold a cornucopia. As long as there are more monks in the temple, there will be more cornucopia; The cornucopia is getting bigger and bigger, and more and more monks come to Guangxiao Temple. In the end, almost all the monks in more than 300 temples in Jian 'ou border ran away. When I saw a good monk, I suddenly realized, "Hey, so many monks come here to make ends meet with this cornucopia. Where can they sincerely recite the scriptures and believe in Buddhism? " Amitabha, sin, sin! This cornucopia looks like a curse! ..... All right, I'll do it! "
Shan Jian made up his mind. In the dead of night, he quietly moved the treasure bowl out of Admiralty, pushed it to the stream and slammed it into the deep pool. After doing this, he breathed a sigh of relief and walked back. After a few steps, I patted my thigh and couldn't help crying out: "Oh, no! Although the cornucopia has been thrown into the deep pool, there is no guarantee that it will no longer rise and disturb people's hearts. Well, we have to find a way to stop it forever! " He ran back to the temple in three steps, jumped into the Admiralty and shouted, "Big, big, big!" " "With his shouts, Admiralty suddenly became bigger. Finally, it flew to the top of Lion Mountain with a shout. The good monk also rode firmly on the golden bell and followed. His eyes are still fixed on the treasure bowl in the deep pool. In this way, Admiralty became a pagoda, and the good monk also became a tower-protecting dragon coiled around the top of the tower, restraining the earthen bowl forever. This is the origin of Shuinan Tower, so Shuinan Tower is also called Shan Jian Tower.
