Linyi, a prefecture-level city in Shandong Province, is located in the southeast of Shandong Province, on the west bank of the Yellow Sea, at the junction of the Yangtze River Delta economic circle and the Bohai Economic Circle, in the national key development zone of the East Longhai Sea and in the industrial belt near the port in southern Shandong.

Linyi is centered on Yishu River, surrounded by mountains on the west, north and east, and forms a fan-shaped alluvial plain to the south. The area ratio of mountains, hills and plains is 2: 4: 4.
The mountainous areas are concentrated in Yishui, Yinan, Mengyin, Pingyi, Feixian and Junan counties. The terrain is relatively high, generally above 400 meters above sea level. Dense vegetation in mountainous areas is the main base for developing forestry, fruit industry and animal husbandry.
