Why is the capital built in Beijing instead of Chengdu or Wuhan?

Officials say that place is the center of conflict control between ethnic minorities and Han nationality. The general trend of geomantic omen in China is that it starts from Kunlun Mountain in the west and extends eastward, forming large mountains and small branches. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east, high in the north and low in the south. The location of Beijing conforms to the general trend of this system.
