The Historical Evolution of Youxi Town

Youxi is like a pearl embedded on the bank of the Yangtze River in the north of Jiangjin. Before the Qin Dynasty, it was a national territory of Cuba. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was the seat of Lecheng County (now Jiangjin City) and the earliest ancient county in Jiangjin. According to "Records of Nine Domains", the organizational system of Youxi Town began in the Yuanfeng period of the Northern Song Dynasty and has a history of nearly a thousand years.

Youxi Town was built in p>1952, changed to commune in 1958 and resumed in 1961. In 1997, with an area of 36.5 square kilometers and a population of 31,, it governed 17 administrative villages, including Tangtang, Shima, Ludian, Yan, Dapo, Fangbei, Huanglian, Yonghe, Banzhu, Panjie, Gutan, Liushui, Shiyang, Shaojia, Lianshi, Qingshui and Jumu, and Shangzui, Xiazui, Zhongzui and Xinjie.
