Zhang Furong scenic spot Chen Jitang's mother's tomb

Chen ancestral home in Fangcheng, Guangxi (Fangcheng belonged to Guangdong before liberation). Hundreds of kilometers away from Hua County, how could his mother be buried here? The ancients said: In the 1930s, Chen became the commander-in-chief of the First Army of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Army, with army, navy and air force150,000 officers and men, mastered the military and political power of Guangdong, and was equal to Chiang Kai-shek, so he was called the "Southern King". However, Chen and his younger brother Chen Weizhou, the history of salt transportation in Guangdong and Guangxi, are very superstitious about Feng Shui. Some Feng Shui gentlemen, in order to flatter their brothers, think that Chen must be lucky to be where he is today. Then go to the top of Fangcheng Babao to see Chen's geomantic omen. One of them, Mr. Weng Banxuan, also plausibly said: "The tomb of Chen Zuji, the top of the eight treasures, can only be issued to the first person in Guangdong. If you want to get rich, you must find another blessed place. " So Chen ordered Mr. Weng Banxuan and other geomancers to travel around Guangdong famous mountains and rivers with huge sums of money to find a "blessed land". No matter where a great man was born, he will visit his ancestral grave. Hong Xiuquan, the king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom who visited later, had a ancestral grave in Furong County, Hua County, but because he was not buried in the "real cave", he became a short-lived king and failed to unify China as an emperor. So, Mr. Weng Banxuan and other geomancers repeatedly surveyed this place with a compass, and finally selected this "Dragon Cave", thinking that this geomantic omen could make China the first person. Chen bought this mountain with 30,000 pieces of silver, and set aside a huge sum of money to build a haunted house, and moved his mother's bones from Fangcheng for burial. In order to transport building materials and sweep graves by car in the future, a simple road was specially built from the old flower city, passing through Min 'an Village, Fuyuan Reservoir and now Furong Garden, and then at the foot of the waterfall, until here. As you can imagine, this project is huge.

During the burial, military and political officials from Guangdong Province and Huaxian County, as well as teachers and students from Huacheng School, all attended the funeral, which was very lively. In order to prevent others from robbing the tomb, a barracks was built under the existing reservoir by using the original water flow, and a row of men were sent to guard the tomb, waiting for the "first person to be sent to China". Who knows that soon after the grave was buried, Chen's air force turned its back on Chiang Kai-shek, and his plan to oppose Chiang Kai-shek's independence ended in failure. When he fled overseas, he also dug up his mother's bones and funerary objects. Is this a failure without being buried in a "real hole"? Dare not jump to conclusions. Now the tomb is rebuilt at the expense of the government and preserved as a historical relic. 199 1 year, when the new tomb was restored, Chen Shuzong, the fifth son of Chen, brought his wife to pay homage to his ancestors.

During his administration in Guangdong, Chen did many good things for Guangdong. Older people still miss the "Chen Times". For example, Guangzhou's municipal construction, Zhongshan Library, Zhongshan Memorial Hall, Sun Yat-sen University's Xinshipai Teaching Building, Haizhu Bridge, and the municipal government building can not be separated from his strong support; In terms of industrial construction, the newly built and expanded factories include Xicun Cement Plant, Xicun Sulfuric Acid Plant, Xicun Fertilizer Plant, Xicun Power Plant, Henan Textile Mill, Provincial Paper Mill, Pajiang Arsenal, Stone Sugar Factory, Shunde Sugar Factory, Jieyang Sugar Factory, Dongguan Sugar Factory, Xicun Water Plant and other industries. Many equipments are imported from abroad, and according to today's language, their ideas are relatively open. Therefore, the Huaxian government has built this place into a monument.
