What are the characteristics of the terrain in our hometown?

Shandong has a complex terrain, with the Yellow River Plain in the west and north of the eastern peninsula and mountainous hills in the south-central part. The types of landforms are Zhongshan, low mountains, hills, platforms, basins, plains and lakes. Among them, mountains and hills account for about 33% of the total area of the province, and the remaining two-thirds are mainly plains. The mountains in the central part of the territory are prominent, the southwest and northwest are low-lying and flat, and the eastern part is gentle and hilly, forming a general trend of landform with mountains and hills as the skeleton and plain basins criss-crossing. Mount Tai is located in the middle, with an altitude of 1545 meters, which is the highest point in the province. The Yellow River Delta is generally 2- 10 meters above sea level, which is the lowest land in the province.
