Qin Shihuang Mausoleum, also known as Lishan Mausoleum, is located in Lintong District, Xi City, Shaanxi Province. It was built in the first year of Qin Dynasty. After 39 years of construction, it covers an area of 56.25 square kilometers. Its scale can be imagined, and many of its construction technologies may be difficult to reach the level at that time.
As the first large mausoleum in history, there are more than 400 known burial pits around the Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang, including the world-famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit. Qin Shihuang has more burial pits than Maoling, about 6 square kilometers larger than Maoling, and larger than Ganling 16 square kilometers.
When Qin Shihuang's mausoleum was selected, it was located on Mount Li in the south and on the Weihe River in the north. Qin Shihuang built artificial fish ponds around the mausoleum. There are records about artificial fish ponds in Shuijing Note. Qin Shihuang built dams from east to west and surrounded the entire dormitory mausoleum on three sides. The mausoleum of Qin Shihuang is surrounded by mountains and waters. Judging from the current geomantic omen, Mount Li is the most suitable place to build a mausoleum, so Qin Shihuang chose the mausoleum here. In addition to the feng shui factor, the location of Qin Shihuang's mausoleum depends more on the terrain, and ancient emperors often chose higher ground.
As the largest mausoleum in history, the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum has a huge investment, and its construction also consumes a lot of manpower, material resources and time. Today, for most people, there are still many mysteries in the mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, which makes people want to explore what happened when the first mausoleum was built.
