The sages applied the five elements of gossip to the Yin-Yang room, and distinguished eight landscapes of the Yin-Yang room with the five elements, so as to find out the influence law of gossip and five elements on the Yin-Yang room, and gradually formed the application theory of gossip in geomantic omen, also known as acquired gossip geomantic omen.
For example, most houses in Pingyang face south: because the north is divination, the five elements belong to water, Shui Han is cool in winter, and the north wind is strong in winter; If you build a house facing north, the cold wind in winter will blow into the house head on, which is not conducive to keeping people warm and keeping out the cold, so it is not suitable for building a house facing north. Because the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, it is the source of light and heat; If the building faces east or west, the house can only get light and warmth for half a day. The east is divination, and the five elements belong to wood. Wood will be inflamed when it meets fire, and the inflammation will be strong in summer. If the house faces east or west, the hot sunshine will rush in in summer, which is not conducive to enjoying the cool in summer, so it is not suitable for building a house facing east or west. Based on the consideration and summary of the five elements, seasons, climate and sunshine. It is concluded that in Pingyang or a vast area, the ancients mainly sat facing south, which is the wise application of environmental science by the ancients. The above five elements, season, climate, orientation, etc. , are summed up and combined by the sages in the gossip the day after tomorrow. Then, according to five lines of gossip's classification, combined with the five elements of the human body, the age of living, and the branches and branches of sixty jiazi, a relatively perfect acquired gossip feng shui was formed.
Because the use of acquired gossip in geomantic omen is mainly based on the orientation and attributes of the five elements, we should measure the names of the eight directions and the sitting orientation of their houses when we inspect the houses of Yin and Yang, or when we build or build them. To measure the eight directions and sitting direction of Yin and Yang, we must use corresponding tools and measure them at corresponding positions. This is the practical skill of Feng Shui-Li Ji.
First, the north and the south stand at the extreme, and gossip began to be divided in ancient times. People began to explore ways of orientation. Everyone works at sunrise and returns at sunset, taking the rise and fall of the sun as the law of people's rest, and distinguishing geographical orientations by the direction of sunrise and sunset, thus producing the concept of four orientations in the southeast, northwest and northwest. The legend of "Kuafu chasing the sun" in ancient times is a description of the other person's sense of position. At first, due to the continuous deviation of the sunrise directions of the four seasons, the four directions were generalized. It was not until the shadow of the earth (stone) appeared that people regarded the sunrise direction from summer solstice as due east, and then determined four directions. Later, because of the discovery of magnets, sages invented Sina, so human civilization entered a new era, and people can measure relatively accurate directions in different environments. Compass is one of the four great inventions in China, which has greatly accelerated the civilized process of society and human life.
If you want to distinguish the names of yin and yang scholars in all directions, or the names of yin and yang scholars sitting in the direction, you have to rely on the tool that indicates the direction, that is, the compass.
Compasses are widely used in geomantic omen, which is awkward, because the previous Sina or navigation compasses were relatively large, bulky and inconvenient to carry. Except for royal buildings, the general orientation is determined by the sunrise as the east. Actually, I want to go, too. It is impossible for an ancient geomantic master to go hiking and wading or build a house with a magnetic spoon and a big copper plate all day. Therefore, the ancients were mainly based on the theory of four images, relying on innate gossip's geomantic omen, and taking images as the root of geomantic omen.
By the Tang and Song Dynasties, due to the refinement and miniaturization of the compass, it was gradually widely used in Feng Shui. Especially in the Song Dynasty, the unprecedented development of Yi Xue and Qi Li made the application of acquired gossip in Feng Shui gradually perfect and mature.
Therefore, the application of the acquired Eight Diagrams Feng Shui should be based on the north and south, and divided into eight sides from the beginning to the end. As shown in the figure below:
The universe is a great Tai Chi, and everything is a small Tai Chi. Therefore, whenever we hold a compass, no matter where we walk on the earth, any corner is also a pole. If we overlap the compass with the due south line on the disk, we can determine the direction of the north and south poles, and then according to the scale line of the compass, we can measure the four positive directions of due south, due north, due east and due west, and we can measure the four-dimensional directions of southeast, northeast, southwest and northwest. Establish eight directions, accept gossip, gossip with eight directions, each side is divided into three squares, and each square is allocated heavenly stems and earthly branches according to five lines, so there are always twenty-four words in gossip, and twenty-four directions are determined. Eight diagrams have been divided into twenty-four characters, and we can find out the names of twenty-four characters around the vertical pole according to the compass scale to record the landscape or build on a certain word of a hexagram; Then we can use the theory of five elements to judge the feng shui influence of opposing poles according to the landscape or architecture in a certain word.
The twenty-four characters on a modern compass generally have two or three layers, and we only need to rely on the twenty-four characters on the innermost layer, because only the middle line of the word "noon" on the innermost layer is facing the scribed line of the compass, and the twenty-four characters on the other two layers are only left and right. This is the usage of compass placement and measurement: north and south stand at two poles, and gossip is divided into twenty-four words.
New users don't care how many layers there are on the compass, you just need to pay attention to the gossip inside. If you measure sitting posture, you need to measure and record the outermost degrees of one week and one day for future backup and retest.
Second, how to measure the sitting direction of 1 and the measurement of regular buildings.

Make up when it is missing, save it when it is single, and save it when it is small, so that the dotted line of the house is square, and then measure the connection line between the front and rear center points as the seating position.
The above are some building direction finding methods, and some I have never seen or encountered, so you don't have to be demanding. Whether it is regular or irregular, as long as we master the method of filling vacancies and turn irregularities into rules, then the method of finding orientation will be clear to us!
Third, the last section of the residential pole is about the measurement method of sitting orientation. To measure inverted sitting, we must measure the orientation of mountains, rivers, buildings, intersections, electric towers or some special objects in all directions; Only by figuring out the formulas of these objects can we analyze and judge their influence on the gains and losses of the house.
Houses vary in size and shape, and when each room is measured with a compass, the orientation of the surrounding objects is different, so how can we find a more suitable place to put the compass? To find out the center of the house, we can divide the house equally in the gossip, accurately find out the distribution of each room in the gossip, and find out the exact location of the peripheral objects. The center of this house, like the center of a compass, is the land of Tianchi and the pole of the house. If this point is determined, it will radiate in all directions, and all the eight qi will be sensed at the same time in the heart of the house. In a word, putting a compass to measure the position in eight directions is in the center of the house, which is the pole of the house.

The key point to find the pole is also the filling method, which turns irregularities into rules and finds the diagonal intersection, which is also the pole. This point is the heart of the house, put a compass and measure all directions; This pole coordinates all directions, senses all directions, and radiates infinitely. Whether indoors or outdoors, the data measured at this point shall prevail.
Fourth, it is convenient for readers. Seeing what I said above, you may think that the direction finding of the house is very simple; In fact, it is not so simple to measure accurate sitting information in modern buildings. There are two reasons: (1) Modern apartment buildings are tall, and it is often difficult to accurately measure the midpoint of the front and rear walls. If the center line deviates slightly from one and a half meters, the deviation of the measured data will be great, sometimes even exceeding ten degrees, which is not allowed. (2) Modern buildings are all reinforced concrete, and the reinforcement will have a great influence on the magnetism of the compass. Sometimes, if you move one and a half meters in parallel in the same room indoors, the sitting posture information will be ten degrees different; Moreover, the data measured by the compass under the influence of steel bars itself is questionable.
To sum up two points, the sitting direction and distribution in all directions of modern buildings are unmeasurable. How can we measure the orientation and eight directions of the house relatively? Here, I will introduce my experience and provide you with a simple method.
1. Measure the sitting direction of the whole building from the periphery. As shown in the figure below:

This method is simple, the rest sit in the right direction, and so on. This method has little error and little influence on the degree, and it is the only way to find the truth for modern reinforced structure buildings.
2. Then put the income of the whole building in the vertical pole.
At this time, you don't have to pay attention to the compass, just sit right in front of you, and the parties and rooms to which gossip belongs will be clear at a glance. Of course, the pole here is not necessarily accurate, but it can be roughly; Because sometimes the pole may be on the partition wall, it is impossible for us to tear down this wall before putting the compass.
