At present, in Jiangnan, immortals are basically placed like this. Some of them worship the gods of their ancestors in the shrine in the middle, and write their family names. Some are for heaven and earth, some are for both sides, but the position is high. Personally, this is a common practice and cannot be said to be inconsistent with Buddhism. Reasons: First, the master is not necessarily a Buddhist, not necessarily a disciple of the Three Treasures. Most people who believe in Guanyin only know how to seek but not how to do it, and they don't know the truth of Buddhism. Second, the master has put Master Guanyin and Siming Fujun in a very high position, not disrespecting the sages.
As for the number of words to write immortals, this is the custom of folk beliefs. There are two ways to write it. One is to write six words, with the cycle of "birth and death". This is called the small ecliptic cycle, and most provinces adopt the law of combining the small ecliptic; The second is the cycle of "how long does it take to get to the road and how long does it take to get home", which is called the great ecliptic cycle. The number of words is exquisite, not all words can be used. The number of words follows the cycle of two poems in the Great Yellow Road, and then the last word should correspond to the words "through", such as "Tao, Yuan, Tong, Da, Yao and Huan".
