The cypress group in Huangli Scenic Area is located in the east of Huangli Village, Qugou Town, Xiangshan District, Huaibei City. Originally the woodland of Ding Cemetery, it was nationalized after the founding of the People's Republic of China. According to the investigation in June of 199 1, the woodland is 300m long,120m wide and covers an area of 3.6 hectares, all of which are Platycladus orientalis. The forest is complete, lush, even blue as a cloud, full of ink. However, these trees vary in age. There are hundreds of years old Platycladus orientalis, as well as small and medium-sized Platycladus orientalis planted in different periods in modern times. Generations have lived under the same roof, and most of them are over 100 years old. The largest one is 1 1, and others are of different sizes. A Platycladus orientalis in front of the stone tablet in the cemetery, with a height of13.7m, a bust of 239cm, a height of 4m under the branches and a crown width of10m× 6.8m, is the largest one in the forest. At the eastern end of the cemetery, there is a tree with a height of 13.7m, a bust of 233cm, a crown of 9.5m× 1 1m, and another tree with a height of 12.5m, a bust of 2 12cm and a crown of 9m× 7m. According to the stone tablet tomb in the 12th year of Qing Yongzheng (1734), the oldest tree is over 270 years old. Because Platycladus orientalis was originally a geomantic tree in the ancient tomb, it was not only well protected, but also forbidden by villagers in past dynasties, making it the only natural landscape of long green ancient forest in Huaibei Plain of our province.
