Note: Hankou Town (now in Wuhan City, Hubei Province), with the beautiful Hankou River Beach, is the first of the four famous towns. It is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. In ancient times, water transportation was the mainstay, and it is known as the "thoroughway of nine provinces" , after the development of railway transportation, water and land transportation were combined. Because it is located in the middle of the north and south of our country, it is convenient to communicate with other provinces and cities. Today's Hankou was originally connected to Hanyang and was part of Hanyang County. Even after the Han River changed its course during the Chenghua Period of the Ming Dynasty and the two places were separated by the river, Hankou has always been under the jurisdiction of Hanyang. Until 1899 (the 25th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), the Xiakou Hall was established, and Hankou began to be divided from Hanyang. Therefore, Hankou has never been surrounded by ancient city walls like Hanyang and Wuchang.
