Ban Zhao (also known as Ban Huiji and Cao Dajia), the sister of Ban Gu in the Eastern Han Dynasty, ordered Ban Zhao to go to the "Dongguan Library" of the then National Library in the 4th year of the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 92). Ma Xu assisted her in collecting, sorting out and studying astronomical observation records of the Western Han Dynasty, and wrote Astronomical Records and Eight Tables of Hanshu.
Chu Yan, an astronomer in the Song Dynasty, had a daughter who studied astronomical mathematics, and Wang Xichan had a sister, Wang, who was also an astronomical mathematician, but neither of them left any research results.
In the early Ming Dynasty, a female astronomer named Ma appeared in Changli County. According to the old edition of Changli County Records, after Zhu Yuanzhang, the Ming emperor, established the Ming government, he heard that Changli talented woman Ma was proficient in calendar and astronomy, so she spent twenty-five years in Hongwu (1392). "Minister Chen Erzai holds 200 ingots of treasure, which are divided into four ingots inside and outside." At the same time, he ordered "County Taizi to give 60 meters of stone." In the thirty-first year of Hongwu (1398), Zhu Yuanzhang died, and the court "sent female envoys to Jia Ning". After Ming Taizu acceded to the throne, he called Ma into the palace for the second time, "giving him a treasure inside and outside" and "Liu Zheng, the official father and son, giving lifelong instruction to Confucianism in Changli County".
Wang (A.D. 1786 ~ 1797), a female astronomer in Qing Dynasty, wrote one volume of Addition and Deletion of Western Computation, one volume of Correcting Calculations to Prove Errors, four volumes of Looking at Pictures, five volumes of Shu Shu Shu Jian Cun and one volume of Calculations. She has written many books about her achievements in astronomy, many of which have been forgotten. What she can see now is only the astronomical calendar experience of volumes 5, 6 and 7 of the Jinling series "De Feng Ge Ji". For example, in the fifth volume, there is a debate on the precession of the day.
The debate of surplus, the debate of stars and Huang Chi's second explanation; The sixth volume includes the theory of the circle of the earth, the theory that the earth is more important than nine days, the theory that the annual rings are fixed at the center of the earth, and the theory that the five stars of the sun, the moon and the sky turn left with the first, second and third days. Volume 7 includes Eclipse solution and Pythagorean triangle solution. It is said that her works amount to 64 volumes, but now we can only read a few volumes.
