Thousand Buddha Mountain is a place to pray for blessings and receive auspiciousness. Although it is called Thousand Buddhas, there are many Taoist temples. The mountain is not high, but it is unique. There are lush vegetation on both sides of the mountain, and the top is bare and exposed rocks. Climb to the top and see Jinan City.
The entire scenic spot is basically full of various sacred and Buddhist temples, but most of them are non-religious places. They are merchants. The staff vigorously sell incense and paper money, and the price is very few cheaper than the tickets. If you go all the way from the entrance to pay incense and pray for blessings and longevity, you will inevitably lose money.
Guanyin Garden, Wanfo Cave, Xingguo Temple, etc. in the scenic area are small attractions in the park. Tickets are sold separately at the entrance of the small attractions. These tickets are not sold at the ticket office at the entrance of the scenic area.
Qianfoshan Park is located at a high altitude, so riding the bicycle took a lot of effort. At the last 500 meters of the slope, I couldn’t move even while standing up, so I gave up. The place where Qianfo Mountain is located is not quiet. It is located in the urban area, with convenient transportation and an endless stream of tourists. It is also a place for citizens to exercise in the morning and evening.
Go up the steps and you will see the temple within two hundred meters. The first is the Lingguan Hall on the right, which is dedicated to the Taoist divine generals who protect the law. Further up is the Temple of Wealth and Shangqing Temple. They face the stairs leading up the mountain. They are on both sides and surrounded by incense. They are built on the left and right sides of the hillside, with the ground higher in the north and lower in the south. The foundations of the houses built on the south side are higher. Buildings with this orientation are rare.
At the time of the tour, Ten Thousand Buddhas Cave was under maintenance and not open to the public. It is said that the cave imitated the essence of the four famous grottoes: "Mogao", "Longmen", "Maiji" and "Yungang". It is divided into four parts: "Mogao Collection", "Longmen Essence", "Maiji Wonders" and "Yungang Collection". The Buddha statues are all molded according to their original appearance, with 28,888 Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, disciples, heavenly kings, and powerful men. The so-called Ten Thousand Buddhas are truly worthy of the name.
The sitting Buddha and Samantabhadra Hall in the courtyard outside the cave will give you a lot of insight. Especially the Big Buddha is very strange. It is the first time I have seen this kind of statue in the sitting posture with hands on the knees, and the statue is in I look like I have no sense of artistic beauty, my image and figure are dull, and I lack the majesty of a Buddha. When I went home and looked at photos of the Leshan Giant Buddha, I discovered that the famous Leshan Giant Buddha also had this posture. If you have never been to Leshan Giant Buddha, your knowledge is still limited and you need to learn more.
There are "two gods, civil and military" in Taoism. The "wen" god is the Wenchang emperor who is in charge of the world's fame and fortune, and the "wu" god is the incarnation of loyalty and the Guansheng emperor who subdues demons and bandits. The "Two Gods of Civil and Military Affairs" are enshrined in Wenchang Pavilion on the hillside on the southeast side of the park. Wenchang Pavilion starts with a stone archway, and you need to climb several flights of steps to visit it. Entering through the pavilion door, you immediately see the Guan Sheng Temple. Enshrined in the Guan Temple is Guan Shengdi, the god of martial wealth. Bypassing Guansheng Temple and climbing up a short flight of steps, you will reach the highest point of the scenic spot. There are three palaces here. The main hall is the Wenchang Emperor's Hall. In the middle of the main hall is the Wenchang Emperor. There are Kuixings in the east and west respectively, and they stand in red clothes. Fuxing Hall and Shouxing Hall are the east and west auxiliary halls.
There is a large square in Maitreya Garden, with various children's play cars lined up on the left and right, waiting to be rented. Under the scorching sun in midsummer, there are also children riding electric cars around the square. At the back of the square is the huge golden Maitreya Buddha on a high pedestal, with a big belly and a big smile. Such a large Buddha statue should be rare in the whole country. It is golden and shining, and looks very small when standing in front of it. Such a giant Buddha should be solemn and solemn, making people feel awe, but it is the most friendly image of Maitreya with a smiling face and a big belly, so there is no pressure to pay homage. Although he is kind, he cannot get close to him. The base of the Buddha statue is very high and there is no way to hold the Buddha's feet.
There is also a small attraction in a hidden place not far away, which seems to be called Guanyin Cave. The ticket is 10 yuan. A white standing statue of Guanyin at a high place outside the cave is also relatively large. It comes into view through the cover of trees several times during the climb.
