The traditional ritual process of accepting apprentices and apprenticeships in the folk arts world

The process is as follows:

1. Preparation. Confirm the apprenticeship venue, prepare the incense table and tributes. Place the statue of the ancestor.

2. Apprenticeship ceremony. Master offers incense and bows before me, uncle, uncle offers incense and bows before me. The early disciples of the same sect offered incense and bowed before him. Finally, the prospective disciples collectively offered incense and kowtowed.

3. The master takes his place and representatives of prospective disciples present flowers.

4. Master preaches the sect’s rules and regulations.

5. New disciples kowtow to their master and hand them a letter of worship.

6. The apprentice offers wine to the master, and the master receives the wine.

7. The master issues the disciple certificate to the disciple.

8. Master’s instructions.

9. Disciples swear an oath.

10. Witnesses speak, masters and uncles speak on their behalf, senior brothers speak on their behalf, and new disciples express their stance.

11. The apprenticeship ceremony was completed and a group photo was taken.
