Chaohu Lake is bigger than Taiping Lake. Chaohu Lake is located in the middle of Anhui Province, Hefei City, which is connected with Huaihe River. It is 55 kilometers long from east to west and 22 kilometers wide from north to south, with a perennial water area of about 760 square kilometers. Taiping Lake is 48 kilometers long from east to west, 6 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 88 square kilometers at its narrowest point of only 150 meters.
