How to grow lettuce at home

There are three ways to grow lettuce at home:

1 in fact, lettuce can be planted all year round, as long as the temperature is below 20 degrees, it can be sown at any time. In addition, if you want to plant lettuce at high temperature, you can also choose some heat-resistant lettuce varieties to plant. Generally, lettuce is very suitable for sowing in autumn, so it will continue to grow in winter.

There are many kinds of lettuce, some plants are smaller, some can form a ball, some have larger leaves, some taste better, and some purple-leaf lettuce is also planted in this way.

2. As for the choice of tools for growing lettuce, as long as it is a container that can hold soil, it can be planted at home. Note that flowerpots or other containers, foam boxes and empty oil drums must have drainage holes, otherwise they will not grow well and the leaves will turn yellow easily, because the soil in the pots is easy to accumulate water.

It is suggested to use some longer plastic pots, so that many seedlings can be planted and placed easily. Planting a few pots on the balcony is cleaner, cleaner and more beautiful. Potted soil can be common garden soil. If you don't want to buy dirt, you can mix it yourself.

That is, when mixing soil, we should pay attention to adding some fertile humus soil, or some decomposed organic fertilizer, chicken manure, sheep manure and so on. Increase soil fertility and provide nutrients for lettuce seedlings continuously. If there is no shortage of fertilizer, it can grow more luxuriantly and beautifully.

3. Before sowing, make the pot soil looser and softer. Squeeze the pot with your hands. It won't be uneven. If the seeds are scattered unevenly, they can be mixed with sand and scattered in flowerpots. When sowing for the first time, try to spread the seeds as little as possible and spread them evenly.

Then, water it and put it on the balcony where there is enough light and good ventilation. If the temperature is around 20 degrees, the germination rate will be very fast. After germination, when the three leaves grow out, if the seedlings are too many and too dense, you can pull out some of them, or transplant some after the seedlings grow up.

The transplanted lettuce, Xin Wei, will grow better. Transplanted and non-transplanted seedlings are completely different. After transplanting, lettuce will grow luxuriantly and its leaves will be larger. In short, the spacing between seedlings should not be too small, otherwise you will not get enough nutrients and sunshine, and your growth will not be good.

After germination, it is necessary to increase the light. Add some fertilizer when you grow up. If fertilization is necessary, you can pour some cakes, or soak sheep manure in water and pour it in the pot soil. There is really no organic fertilizer. You can give some compound fertilizer or chemical fertilizer. Without fertilizer, you won't flourish. At the same time, water it in time. If the soil is too dry, the lettuce leaves will not grow enough water.

Only sufficient fertilizer and light can make the leaves more delicious and taste better. Lettuce is easy to grow. Plant it once and you'll know. The balcony has become a world of lettuce, a beautiful and vibrant small vegetable garden where you can eat the freshest lettuce.
