The main hall is a palace where feudal emperors exercised power or held grand ceremonies. The Hall of Supreme Harmony is the largest of the three halls, and the Hall of Zhonghe is the smallest. The Three Great Halls are the palaces of China in Ming and Qing Dynasties, which embodies the following characteristics of China Palace architecture: the hall of supreme harmony is the main body in the plane layout, and the halls, pavilions, terraces, corridors, pavilions, doors and other buildings are arranged in a symmetrical French way. The hall building is supported by wooden frames and all columns.
Sitting facing south, the roof is covered with golden glazed tiles. The decorative colors of the three halls are mostly gold, the roofs are mostly red, the columns, doors, windows and walls are mostly red, and the eaves are mostly blue-green, lined with white jade stone railings and stone steps, forming a sharp color contrast.
topological structure
Baohe Hall is 9 rooms wide and 5 rooms deep, with a building area of 1240.00㎡ and a height of 29.50m m. The roof rests on the top of the mountain with double eaves, covered with yellow glazed tiles, and 9 small animals are placed on the upper and lower eaves. The upper eaves are upturned, with seven orders and five orders, and the inner and outer eaves are painted with golden dragons and seals. The interior of the temple is paved with gold bricks, and the north and south are carved with gold lacquer thrones.
There is a warm pavilion at the east and west ends, with two doors and an embossed hat of Ruyi Yunlong mixed with gold. The building adopts the method of reducing columns, and the front eaves of the hall are reduced by six, so the space is spacious and comfortable. Baohe Hall has different uses in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Before the Ming Dynasty ceremony, the emperor often changed clothes here, and when the queen and the prince wrote inscriptions, the emperor congratulated him in this hall.
