Tingzhou Town is located in Changting County, Longyan City, Fujian Province. It is located in the west of Fujian, at the southern foot of Wuyi Mountain. It is the border of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces. The county governs 18 townships (towns) and 300 villages (residences), with a total population of 550,000 and a land area of 3 104. 16 square kilometers. It is a typical mountainous county with "eight mountains, one water and one field" and belongs to the fifth largest county in Fujian Province.
Changting has a long history and profound foundation. County was established in Han Dynasty, and Tingzhou was established in the 24th year of Kaiyuan in Tang Dynasty (AD 736). It was one of the five famous states in Fujian in Tang Dynasty. From the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, all dynasties were the locations of prefectures, counties, roads and governments, and were the political, economic and cultural centers of western Fujian. Known as "Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties are all important towns in Jin 'ou, and prefectures and counties are all famous cities in China".
Changting is a world-famous Hakka capital with rich and colorful culture. Changting became the birthplace and distribution center of Hakkas.
