Basic situation of Wu Tingxiang

Wu Tingxiang devoted his life to industrial construction and management, and made great contributions to the revitalization of national industrial construction and the development of national economy. During his tenure in Guangxi, he presided over the construction of Liushi Road (Liuzhou No.1 Expressway), Yufeng Road, Wenbi Road, Jiahe Road and other highways, and planned and built Liuzhou City after the 1928 Liuzhou fire, initially appearing the embryonic form of Liuzhou modern city. Liujiang Agricultural and Forestry Experimental Field, Liujiang Public Hospital (the first western hospital in Liuzhou), Liujiang Library (the first new library open to the public in Liuzhou), Liujiang Civilian Factory and Liujiang Daily (the first newspaper publicly issued by Liuzhou government) were established, which was the first in Liuzhou. Advocating the establishment of Guangxi Alcohol Factory (once known as "the largest and earliest alcohol industry in China"), Liuzhou Machinery Factory, Liuzhou Brick Factory, Power Plant and Tannery Factory. Liuzhou was once the industrial center of Guangxi during the Republic of China. The Legend of Wu Ting was compiled by experts and scholars organized by the Municipal Local Records Office, with more than 270,000 words, which restored Wu Tingxiang's extraordinary life from the aspects of joining the army in troubled times, opening up modern Liuzhou city, taking charge of Guangxi's new construction, mediating peace in Gui Jiang, establishing rural experimental areas and building Zhejiang. The book also contains dozens of photos related to Wu Tingkui, and the appendix contains dozens of Wu Tingkui's speeches excavated from the old archives of the Republic of China, which has certain historical value for studying Wu Tingkui's life story and the history of Guangxi and Zhejiang during the Republic of China.
