Leizhou Peninsula lacks surface water. The main rivers are Nandu River, Xixi River, Yingli River, Tongming River, Tiaofeng River, etc., which radiate into the sea alone. Among them, Nandu River is the largest, 65 kilometers long, flowing into Leizhou Bay and Leizhou Youth Canal run through the northern part of the peninsula and are 236 kilometers long. Groundwater resources are abundant.
The terrain of the peninsula is gentle, high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with the altitude mostly below 1,000 meters. The southern part is a basalt platform, accounting for 43.3% of the peninsula's area. It is slightly turtle-shaped. There are many isolated volcanic cones distributed on the platform, with double peaks and an altitude of 382 meters. The central, western and northern parts are mostly sea terraces, accounting for 26.7% of the peninsula's area, with an altitude below 25 meters. The central and eastern parts are alluvial and marine plains, accounting for 17.4% of the peninsula's area, and the terrain is gentle.
