On the surface, Confucius really told us to choose our neighbors to live in. But what if we have no choice? The neighbors basically don't know each other and don't even say hello. How can they "choose the right place"? In ancient times, there should be a lack of choice, such as the poor (poor scholars), it is not easy to choose a residence. Even if a rich man buys a villa, does your neighbor have benevolence? All this is unpredictable. In my opinion, what Confucius emphasizes here is not only the choice of neighbors, but also the warning of learning from others. Kindness in the heart is wisdom, and kindness is a gentleman. On the other hand, if you are heartless, even if you choose "benevolence", the result may not be good. Therefore, we should understand this sentence of Confucius from two directions: inward, let the heart "choose benevolence" and "treat benevolence"; Outward, we should pay attention to the influence of external environment on people. The focus is on the inner "benevolence" and "benevolence".

Unity of knowing and doing: I think of three small examples about the influence of external environment on people. One is my hometown community. As the saying goes, "those who are near ink are black, and those who are near ink are black", so "benevolence is beauty" should not only pay attention to the external materialized environment, but also the influence of the ideological and behavioral environment is often far-reaching, so parents must be cautious.

We often can't choose the external environment. Whether we choose benevolence or not depends entirely on me. Although the blessing has not arrived, it will be a far-reaching disaster. " So there is no need to care about immediate interests, and far-reaching disasters are blessings!
