The name of the village originated from the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573- 16 19). Li's ancestor Li couldn't live in Wangjiagang for a long time, so he found another place to live. Legend has it that there is a temple here called the Seven Temples. I don't know when this temple was transformed from three nuns from the northwest and became a ruin. Li's ancestors and others came here just in time for the high tide of the sea and surrounded them on a earthen platform. As the sea rolled, the rising platforms increased, and they were saved from the great disaster. Later, the water collapsed and turned out to be the site of the Seven Temples. Ancestors thought it was a treasure trove of geomantic omen, so they settled down and named the village Shentai. The backstage and the hall are similar in pronunciation in the local area, so it has evolved into Shentang Village. During the Cultural Revolution (1966), all kinds of ghosts and demons were swept away. Because the name of the village has the word "God" and Dongfeng Farm of Shengli Oilfield Material Supply Department (1964) was established here, the name of the village was changed to Dongfeng Village. 1982, the original name of Shentang Village was restored.
Population and surname Shentang Village was originally a village with mixed surnames, including Li, Guo, Du, Wu, Cao, Huang, Sui, Su and Shao. Among them, Li is the majority. The village has 858 people.
Dongfeng Farm1In the autumn of 964, the Material Supply Department of Shengli Oilfield established Dongfeng Farm in the north of Shentang Village to arrange for the families of employees. Shentang village allocated more than 2000 mu of barren saline-alkali land to grow rice and change it to alkali. After years of consolidation and transformation, the land quality has been continuously improved and the income has been continuously increased. 1985 After consultation with the farm, it was decided that Dongfeng Farm would allocate 100 kg of rice per person per year to Shentang as land compensation. In 2000, Dongfeng Farm moved away and more than 2,000 mu of land was returned to Shentang Village.
1In the spring of 938, the guard battalion (Huang Ying) of the 3rd Regiment of the 16th Brigade of Guangrao Security Guard of Kuomintang came to Shentang Village from the northwest depression, plundered and forced the villagers to donate food to them, and asked them to fetch water and cook in Lujiawan, which is outside Babali Road, making the villagers miserable. On May 27th, the Japanese army came to Shentang Village from the southeast to "mop up", joined forces with Huang Ying and fought fiercely in the north of the village. At that time, eight villagers were killed or injured, and Mei Huaide, head of Meili Township, and Zhai Wanfu, a villager, were killed.
Near Shentang Village, there are tourist attractions such as Longju Yellow River Forest Tourist Area, Hualin Manor, Dongying Shengli Oilfield Science and Technology Exhibition Center, Dongying Vientiane Amusement Park and Dongying Yue Long Lake Scenic Area (Dongying Swan Lake), as well as special foods such as hairy crabs in the Yellow River estuary, watermelons in Mawan, swordfish in the Yellow River estuary, roast chicken in Shikou and Portunus trituberculatus.
