Is osmanthus tree suitable for planting at the gate?

Sweet-scented osmanthus trees are generally planted on both sides of the road, and they are also very suitable for planting at the door.

Reason 1: Osmanthus fragrans fruits generally mature in April-May, and can be harvested when the peel changes from green to purple-black. Osmanthus fragrans seeds have post-ripening effect and have been stored in sand for at least half a year. After harvest, water the pile and go to the pulp. Seeds should be naturally dried in the shade and stored in sand. After sand storage, they can sow in autumn or spring. Before sowing, soil preparation should be done well and sufficient base fertilizer should be applied. It can also be planted in indoor seedbeds. When sowing, put the umbilical cord horizontally to avoid the radicle and young stem from bending, which will affect the growth of seedlings in the future.

Reason 2: Before germination in spring, cut off the rootstock from 5cm above the ground and cut off the thick branches of osmanthus fragrans with the length of 1 ~ 12cm. One side of the base is cut into a plane with a length of 2 ~ 3cm, and the opposite side is cut into a small inclined plane with a 45-degree angle, and a knife is cut longitudinally on one side of the rootstock with a depth of about 1/3.

The main pests of osmanthus cultivated at home are mites, commonly known as red spiders. Once the disease is found, it should be treated immediately, and it can be sprayed on the leaves with acaricide, acaricide and triazole.

Spray evenly on both sides of the blade. Once a week, 2-3 times in a row, it can be cured.

Osmanthus fragrans is a long-day plant, which likes to grow in places with abundant sunshine, deep soil layer and good drainage. The soil is slightly acidic with a pH value of 5.5 ~ 6.5. Avoid alkaline earth, be afraid of stagnant water and oil fume. Potted plants are needed in the north, and low-temperature greenhouses are used for wintering. The temperature around 0℃ will not cause harm to potted osmanthus.

The seeds of osmanthus fragrans begin to mature in April-May, and can be harvested when the peel changes from green to purple. After harvesting, the peel is sprinkled with water and the pulp is removed. After the seeds are dried in the sun, they are mixed with mixed sand and collected.

The seeds of osmanthus fragrans have the function of post-ripening, and should be harvested for at least half a year until autumn sowing in June+10 in 5438 or sowing in the spring of the following year. Sowing is usually carried out by drilling holes. When sowing, the umbilical cord should be placed sideways to avoid the radicle bending of the seeds from affecting the growth of seedlings.
