What I'm talking about here is how to learn in the general direction. Specific perspective, materials, engineering, budget and drawing are all in the curriculum of your school.
Simply put, environmental art is a deformed specialty under the special national conditions of our country. Spanning four major industry sectors. Architectural design. Interior design. Landscape design (landscape design). CG renderings (draftsman).
Different schools have different emphases on the four major directions.
Present situation of college grade teaching
1. University performance: mainly drawing CG renderings. Mainly to train draftsmen.
(I am this kind of school) Design: Mainly interior decoration (home improvement).
Note that I am talking about interior decoration. Different from interior design
Two words. The difference is that you will learn slowly in the future.
Yes
Theoretically, the local unified XXX Textbook for Higher Vocational Colleges. Fur degree.
Focus on ability: CG performance. To be vulgar is to draw computer renderings, CAD design drawings and the like. I have two jobs, one is a draftsman for a home improvement company. The second is a draftsman of the renderings company.
Software to master: 3ds max/vray cad ps sketup (just a few, the software name may be misspelled individually). Practice more software, and strive for sudden death next to the computer in the future. Recently, a project manager in Silk Road is said to have stayed up for a long time to catch up with the map.
2. Undergraduate colleges and universities
Divided into two categories. A comprehensive university. A class of art colleges.
Let's talk about the art department of a comprehensive university. Take the Old Eighth Hospital of Architecture as an example. Major: Tianda, Tsinghua, Tongji, Southeast, South China University of Technology, etc. The main direction of environmental art in these schools is interior design. Relying on the gray and awesome building foundation. In the cultivation of space design, it is incomparable to ordinary colleges and universities.
If you are building the Old Eighth Hospital. Congratulations. Listen to the courses of architecture department. It will inspire your interior design greatly. In addition, taking the major as an example, the College of Materials has a major in architectural decoration, which is also engaged in interior design. Different schools may have different requirements for hand-drawing and computer demonstration.
The second category is the key point. Academy of Fine Arts. Since you said that your school has majors in oil painting and sculpture. I guess nine times out of ten, you are also a student of the Eight Academy of Fine Arts. Simply put, the environmental art of the Academy of Fine Arts generally goes in two directions.
The first is interior design. The second is landscape design. Most of the academy of fine arts will be divided into professional directions in their sophomore year. Some schools may also have architectural design direction and urban design direction, such as Hangzhou Gome. However, the teaching system in the latter two directions is far from perfect compared with the former. First of all, the architectural design of the Academy of Fine Arts lacks foundation and system compared with the Old Eighth Academy. Moreover, the architecture of the Academy of Fine Arts awarded a bachelor's degree in engineering, while the Academy of Fine Arts awarded a bachelor's degree in architecture. If you aspire to be an architect (in the industrial environment of Chinese mainland), but you find that you don't have a degree in architecture, you will find how miserable it is. Although foreign architecture belongs to the art industry. Urban design is a new industry, although it is very popular now, but without a deep foundation of architecture, landscape architecture and planning, you will find that your so-called urban design is only a superficial form.
I don't know how to learn interior design. You have to understand for yourself. Your school also has basic courses such as descriptive geometry, spatial design and three components.
That's all I said. The advantage of environmental art in Academy of Fine Arts lies in its profound hand-drawn skills and creative thinking. This is not comparable to the old eighth hospital of architecture. And you want to deepen your design scheme and take the road you designed far away. I hope you can use the knowledge system of the Old Eighth Institute of Architecture. Interior design industry lacks theoretical basis. Unlike interior decoration, if there is no architectural foundation, everything is interior decoration. And excellent designers can understand the layman's term of interior design as the deepening of the interior space of the building. When you understand the concept of architectural space, you will understand the difference between interior decoration and interior design.
The landscape design is worse. It's also a mess. But now the development prospect is quite good. First, environmental art spans four major industries. The landscape design here is further divided into five major industries. Landscape design, landscape planning, urban design, landscape design, tourism planning. (School of Architecture, Academy of Fine Arts and Forestry)
The first one is based on the art of the Academy of Fine Arts. The main direction is landscape design.
Mainly the planning and design of some residential areas (communities) and the planning of small public places such as commercial streets and squares. If placed in the planning category, it can also be understood as landscape node design.
This research direction involves three types of institutions. 1, landscape design agency 2 landscape planning agency 3 urban design agency.
I don't know much about urban design either. I feel that there are more conceptual designs with some urban characteristics. Maybe I'm just ignorant and wrong.
Landscape planning may involve large-scale planning and design, the biggest of which is the planning of scenic tourist areas. Since it is called planning, what it does is planning and design. Landscape industry also lacks theoretical basis in China. You can borrow some theoretical knowledge of urban planning and design. Travel regulations, in particular, are difficult to understand without the basis of city regulations. Accordingly, people who do landscape planning can also work in urban planning and design institutes. However, the landscape of the Academy of Fine Arts generally does not involve tourism planning, because there is no urban planning major as the theoretical basis. So we do more landscape design.
I understand it this way. You can think of landscape design as a node design in planning and design. For example, interior decoration is the perfection of interior design, and the design of landscape nodes is the perfection and deepening of planning and design.
A company with Grade A qualification in tourism planning and design is also a good big company in the field of landscape design. For landscape companies, there are generally two qualifications. The first is the qualification of tourism planning and design. The second is the engineering qualification of landscape construction. So many companies are called XX landscape design or XX landscape design company, and some companies are called XX landscape planning company.
There are not many schools with tourism planning research direction in the whole mainland, and they must be schools with strong urban planning specialty. Personally, Tongji and Peking University are the best schools. As we all know, the best architecture universities in the world are AA and UCL in Britain, and the best landscape universities are Harvard and Yi Bin in the United States. Moreover, the doctors returned from these two landscape colleges are among the best masters in the domestic landscape industry. Yu from Peking University and Tongji University. Peking University pays more attention to ecology, while Tongji pays more attention to planning. The landscape of Peking University belongs to human geography ecology, while Tongji landscape belongs to planning. (Personally, I think it may be wrong. These two people represent two landscape directions in the mainland today, and academic disputes continue.
Landscape planning or landscape design is generally set up in the school of architecture and urban planning of comprehensive universities (closed for several years). There is also an on-the-job postgraduate major in landscape architecture, called Master of Landscape Architecture, MLA, just like MBA. It does not recognize postgraduate education, but only master's degree. Take the strongest Tongji MLA as an example and set it in the Urban Planning Institute.
And the landscape is also called a garden by many people. The international English name of landscape industry is urban design or landscape. The latter is used uniformly in China. There are many different versions of the Chinese translation of LA, but the trade terms are still controversial. I can't tell what it's called here. Anyway, the academic circles are still debating whether it is called landscape architecture or planning. There is also a disgusting translation called landscape architecture. It is estimated that landscape designers are jealous of the high salary of architects and forcibly enter the field of architecture.
Personally, I think it's a landscape design major with no future. Although all engineers make money. It mainly involves some small-scale landscape designs, such as roof gardens, private gardens, small parks and small courtyards. Style emphasizes traditional classical garden design. Some also do residential areas. Because the project is small, maybe we can find a construction guerrilla and do it ourselves. Just like home improvement, you can have the opportunity to be a small boss and make a fortune.
The biggest advantage of landscape design specialty is that it has a better grasp of landscape flexibility than the environmental art specialty of the Academy of Fine Arts and the landscape specialty of the Academy of Fine Arts, especially in plants. Most landscape design majors are in forestry colleges. For example, Beilin is a famous school in landscape colleges except Peking University and Tongji University. Of course, I don't know about Forestry College, but I have seen their projects and they are very well planned.
My personal suggestion is that if you do landscape planning, a soft understanding is enough. After all, the company now has the position of plant configuration, and others are more professional than you.
In a word, don't forget to learn more about architecture if you want to learn indoor well. Similarly, the landscape should not forget urban planning and ecology. Otherwise, at best, you are just a draftsman who can draw renderings and construction drawings or a builder who knows something about material budget and engineering, and it is difficult to reach the top.
In addition, you must be familiar with the basic necessities of life: materials, budget, geomantic omen and computer drawing (hand-painted landscapes). I have a friend who is studying architecture in Tsinghua. After studying for five years, I can't draw cad, but on the eve of graduation, I was directly bought by a design company in Shanghai for conceptual planning with an annual salary of 654.38 million. For freshmen who don't have one or two notes, it is very awesome. What others value is his powerful scheme and theory, which is valuable for training. Remember, there will never be a shortage of draftsmen and builders in the industry, and we should grasp a lot at a time. However, such talents are in the minority. In order to eat and wear warm clothes, you still face cad, materials and budget every day.
If you study environmental art only for a diploma, then you must master budget, engineering and materials. It is difficult to find money to do projects, especially indoor and garden. Come out for a few years, and you can be a businessman yourself. Drive a good car, live in a villa, and pack beautiful women.
If you like this major, you are determined to further develop it in the program. Take out the necessary engineering and budget knowledge to understand, nothing to read more theoretical books, more hands-on practice. I only studied environmental art for four years, and it passed in a flash. Especially interior designers, don't ask about your architecture four years after graduation, you will know that Tadao Ando's church of light and Wright's flowing water villa will be laughed at by others or come out of the eight fine arts institutes. If you are still in your freshman year and still belong to a relatively simple ideal youth, I recommend you to read Twenty Years of Architects published by Tokyo University, especially the paragraph by I.M. Pei.
The last sentence is for you, you don't have to listen to it. But you have to hear this.
Designers should learn to fool. Otherwise, it's not a designer.
I have made many typos and mistakes, so I am too lazy to review. Please forgive me.
