Legend about the origin of Yongkang place names
Yongkang, formerly known as Lizhou, is said to be the mother of Sun Quan in the eighth year of Wu Chiwu in the Three Kingdoms (AD 245) who came here to make pilgrimages due to illness and prayed for "eternal health". When Wu Guotai recovered from his illness, Sun Quan was overjoyed, and he was given the name of "Yongkang" and made Yongkang the county. In the Tang dynasty, it was promoted to a state. 1992, with the approval of the State Council, the county was withdrawn and the city was established. Yongkang has a long history and beautiful mountains and rivers. There is a beautiful legend of the Yellow Emperor casting a tripod, a sword in the Spring and Autumn Period, a machine made in the Han Dynasty, and a traditional skill of casting a bronze spear in the Tang Dynasty. There are beautiful rural scenery and simple rural customs. It is a famous "hardware capital" and tourist attraction at home and abroad.
