Overview:
Carpets are made of cotton, linen, wool, silk, grass and other natural fibers or chemical synthetic fiber raw materials, which are knitted, woven or woven by hand or mechanical process. Textile floor covering. It is one of the arts and crafts categories with a long history and tradition in the world. Covering the ground of residences, hotels, gymnasiums, exhibition halls, vehicles, ships, aircraft, etc., it has noise reduction, heat insulation and decorative effects.
2. Materials:
Carpet is a ground covering made of raw materials such as cotton, wool, silk, hemp, coconut palm or chemical fiber. Including hand-tufted carpets, machine-made carpets and handmade felt rugs. In a broad sense, it also includes bedding, seat cushions, wall hangings, tents, saddle mattresses, door curtains, stage blankets, etc.
3. Carpet grades:
Carpets are divided into six grades according to the performance of the place they are used:
(1) Light household grade: Paved in rooms or locations that are not frequently used;
(2) Moderate household grade or light professional grade: used in the master bedroom or dining room, etc.;
(3) General household grade or moderate professional grade: used in living rooms, frequent traffic areas such as stairs, corridors, etc.; (
(4) Severe household grade or general professional grade: used for heavy wear at home Place;
(5) Severe professional use grade: generally not used in families;
(6) Luxury grade: The carpet is of good quality and has long fibers, so it is luxurious.
4. Classification of carpet functions
Sound insulation effect: Carpets, with their tight and breathable structure, can absorb and isolate sound waves and have good sound insulation effects.
Improving air quality: Carpets. The surface fluff can capture and absorb dust particles floating in the air, effectively improving indoor air quality.
Carpet safety: Carpet is a soft paving material, which is different from hard materials such as marble and ceramic tiles. The floor paving material is not easy to slip and bump. If there are children or elderly people at home, it is recommended to lay a carpet or a full carpet.
Artistic beautification effect: Carpets have rich patterns, brilliant colors, and diverse textures. The shape can beautify your decorative environment and reflect your personality.
Non-toxic: Carpets do not emit harmful gases such as formaldehyde and meet various environmental protection requirements.
Improve the foot feel: Carpets are comfortable on the feet. Floor materials such as wooden floors, marbles, and ceramic tiles will feel uncomfortable in cold and humid environments. Carpets can solve this problem well.
5. Carpet classification
Classification by use
Based on usage, carpets are divided into two categories: commercial carpets and artistic carpets.
1. Commercial carpets are. Industrially produced carpets are mainly used for laying floors in buildings, such as hotels, hotels, offices, corridors, bedrooms, conference rooms, living rooms, etc. They can also be used in cruise ships, aircraft and other fields. Commercial carpets are generally produced by machine weaving or gun-punching. .
2. Art carpets are carpets for the purpose of appreciation and decoration. They are mainly hung on the walls of the room. They are also called tapestries. Excellent art carpets are usually carefully made by artists. The careful preparation of the designers and producers has artistic appreciation and ideological connotation that ordinary commercial carpets do not have, and has high artistic value and collection value.
A category similar to art carpets is craft carpets. and art carpets, but the categories of the latter two sometimes overlap with commercial carpets, so they are not used as the basis for classification.
Classification by installation location
According to the location where the carpet is used, it is divided into floors. Carpets and wall tapestries or wall rugs.
1. Floor carpets are the most traditional and most commonly used carpet category. They are mainly used for floor laying in various places. They mainly reflect their use value and are generally patterned in various colors. Mainly, it is mainly used for mid-to-low-end products.
2. Wall tapestries are mainly used for wall decoration and embellishment. They generally use landscape paintings and figure paintings in traditional painting masterpieces as their themes. They are mainly hand-woven and have high ornamental value. Due to the cost Higher, generally only used by wealthy families and high-end places.
According to production method
Carpets can be divided into machine-made carpets and handmade carpets due to different production methods. Machine-made carpets include tufted carpets, woven Wilton carpets, and woven Axminster carpets.
a) Tufted carpet
This carpet belongs to a major category of mechanically manufactured carpets. It does not interweave the warp and weft but inserts the pile yarns on the carpet base fabric through steel needles. Then it is made by gluing and holding the city head through the subsequent process. Due to its high production efficiency, this carpet is the first choice for hotel decoration.
b) Machine-woven Wilton carpet
This carpet is made by interweaving three yarns: warp yarn, weft yarn, and pile yarn, and then finishing it through subsequent processes such as gluing and shearing. become. Because this carpet craft originated from the Wilton area in England, it is called Wilton carpet. This loom uses double-layer fabrics so the production efficiency is relatively fast.
c) Machine-woven Axminster carpet
This carpet
Carpet
is also made of warp, weft and pile yarns. The yarn is woven and then finished through subsequent processes such as gluing and shearing. The technology used in this carpet originated from Axminster in the UK. This loom is a single-layer fabric and the machine speed is very low. The carpet weaving efficiency is very low, and its efficiency is only 30% of that of the Wilton loom.
d) Others
1 Hand-woven carpets
2 Hand-made gunpunch carpets
According to use function
a ) Commercial carpet
Broadly speaking, it refers to all carpets except household and industrial carpets. Commercial carpets are still limited to hotels, hotels, office buildings, offices, restaurants and other places in China. However, in the United States and Western developed countries, in addition to the above-mentioned places of use, commercial carpets have been used in airport terminals, dock cruise halls, and station waiting halls. They are widely used in supermarkets, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, nurseries, theaters and other places. With economic development and social progress, the use of surface carpets will gradually increase and the coverage will be wider.
b) Household carpets
As the name suggests, they are household carpets. Household carpets in China are still limited to strip carpets, because the decoration of Chinese homes is still dominated by wooden floors. In Western developed countries, household carpets are a combination of full-length carpets and carpets. China's household carpets have great potential.
c) Industrial carpets
Industrial carpets from domestic to foreign countries are still limited to decoration in cars, airplanes, passenger ships, trains, etc.
3. Classified by different raw materials
Pure wool carpets - mostly made of wool as the main raw material.
Chemical fiber carpet-(synthetic fiber) uses nylon fiber (nylon), polypropylene fiber (polypropylene), polyacrylonitrile fiber (acrylic fiber), polyester fiber (polyester), styling silk, silk, PTT, etc. Made of chemical fiber as the main raw material.
Plastic carpet - made of polyvinyl chloride resin, plasticizer and other auxiliary materials as the main raw materials.
According to the raw material of the carpet
What fiber is generally used to make the velvet yarn is customarily called a carpet. For example, when wool is used as the velvet yarn raw material, it is called a wool carpet; when blended yarn is used as the raw material Carpets generally contain wool, so they are called wool blended carpets; nylon carpets are called nylon carpets.
Common fiber raw materials for carpet pile yarn are divided into three types: natural fiber, chemical fiber and blended fiber. Among them, natural fibers include wool, silk, cotton and jute; chemical fibers include viscose staple fiber, nylon B CF filament and staple fiber, acrylic staple fiber, polypropylene B CF filament and staple fiber and polyester staple fiber; blended fibers include wool /nylon, wool/viscose, wool/acrylic, wool/polyester and wool/jute etc.
1. Wool carpets
Wool carpets are mostly made of wool as the main raw material. It has fine hair, natural elasticity, and can quickly return to its original shape after being compressed. It is made of natural fiber, has no static electricity, is not easy to absorb dust, and is also naturally flame retardant. Pure wool carpets have exquisite patterns, elegant colors, are not easy to age and fade, and have the characteristics of sound absorption, warmth retention, and comfortable foot feel.
In addition, woven wool carpets can be divided into:
A. Pure wool carpets: wool content ≥95%;
B. Wool carpet: 80%≤wool content<95%;
C. Wool blended carpet: 20%≤wool content<80%;
D. Blended carpet: wool Content <20%.
2. Chemical fiber carpets
Chemical fiber (synthetic fiber) carpets use nylon fiber (nylon), polypropylene fiber (polypropylene), polyacrylonitrile fiber (acrylic fiber), polyester fiber (polyester), styling yarn, PTT and other chemicals Made of fiber as the main raw material. Its biggest feature is its strong wear resistance, which overcomes the shortcomings of pure wool carpets that are prone to corrosion and mildew; however, its flame retardancy and antistatic properties are relatively poor. [2]
Classification by texture
Even carpets produced using the same manufacturing method are different due to factors such as raw materials, pile form, pile height, feel, organization and density. , will produce carpets with different appearance effects. Common carpet surface texture categories are:
1. Plush carpet
It is the most common type of cut-pile carpet. The pile length is 5 to 10mm. The broken piles can appear on the carpet surface, which are smooth and uniform.
2. Velvet carpet
The pile length is about 5mm, and the piles on the carpet surface are densely packed, producing a velvet-like effect.
3. Saxony carpet
The pile length is about 15mm. The pile yarn is twisted and heat-set, and the pile produces an effect similar to optical fiber, giving it a plump texture.
4. Strong twisted carpet
That is, elbow yarn carpet. The twist of the pile yarn is relatively large, resulting in a hard touch and strong elasticity on the carpet surface. The direction of the pile is uncertain, so the carpet surface has a special mood and personality.
5. Long pile carpet
The pile length is more than 25 mm, which is thick and long, with a thick carpet surface and an elegant effect.
6. Flat loop pile carpet
The piles are loop-shaped, with uniform and neat loop heights. They are moderately firmer and smoother than cut pile piles, and feel comfortable to walk on.
7. High and low loop pile carpets (including multiple layers of high and low loop piles)
The height of the loops is produced by the change in the length of the pile yarn. The carpet surface has undulating layers, some forming geometric patterns, and the carpet has a three-dimensional feel.
8. Cut/loop pile carpets (including flat cut/loop pile carpets)
Generally, the height of the cut pile part of the carpet exceeds the height of the loop pile, and the loop pile will not be damaged when trimming and smoothing the cut pile piles. The two kinds of piles can be mixed to form a geometric pattern on the carpet surface, with a plain jacquard effect. The cutting pile technology content of flat-cut/loop carpets is also relatively high.
9. Flat carpet
That is, there are no upright piles on the carpet surface, just like the result of a flat carpet. A part of the needle-punched carpet is used to nap the carpet surface with a licker-in roller, which produces the texture of a hairy carpet. .
By product form
1. Full-covered carpet
The width of this kind of carpet is generally 3.66 ~ 4 m. Full-covered carpet means that it is laid on the entire floor between the two indoor walls. When the room width of the laying place exceeds the width of the carpet, The method of cutting and splicing can be carried out according to the conditions of the indoor area to achieve the full carpet requirement. The bottom surface of the carpet can be directly glued to the ground, or the carpet surface can be tightened to prevent minimal slippage between the carpet and the ground, and nails can be used to position it in place. The surrounding wall base method. Wall-to-wall carpets are generally used in living rooms, wards, conference rooms, offices, halls, guest rooms, corridors and other occasions.
2. Carpets
Carpets are rectangular in shape and measured in blocks. Most of the carpets are woven carpets with fine workmanship and complex and colorful patterns. The high-grade ones have certain artistic appreciation value. The width of the rug generally does not exceed 4 m, and the length and width have an appropriate ratio. Rugs are laid on the ground but are not glued to the ground and can be rolled out or rolled up for storage at any time. In addition to being laid, rugs can also be hung on the wall as tapestries. They can also be used as door rugs, elevator rugs, artistic mats, etc.
3. Rug tiles
Rug tiles are also called carpet tiles. Their dimensions are generally 500 mm × 500 mm, but also 450 mm × 450 mm or rectangular. The carpet surface is generally tufted, and the backing and middle-layer interlining are more particular. The finished product has a certain degree of stiffness and can be bonded to the ground when laid, or can be laid directly on the ground. The structure of the patchwork rug is stable and beautiful. The surface of the rug can be printed or pressed into patterns. It is very convenient to carry, store, assemble according to the terrain, and replace and assemble in blocks. In particular, it is suitable for high-rise buildings, ships, airports, computer rooms and office buildings. The domestic market has been very active in recent years.
4. Red carpet
Red carpet is a type of carpet color classification, and it is also the theme color since carpets first entered the decoration industry. The earliest carpets were exclusive items for the palace and were also high-end luxury goods. With the development of society and people's increasing emphasis on and requirements for the living environment, carpets have also entered thousands of households, but as the main color of carpets----- Red carpet is still the mainstream color in the carpet world. To this day, in an era when carpets have become general consumer goods, red carpets are still people's pursuit and symbol of solemnity, nobility, and romance. Whether it is a folk event or an important national event, red carpets are laid out in Chinese and Western locations as important ceremonial items to express solemnity and enthusiasm.
Principles for selecting carpets
Decoration style
(1) The principle of unifying carpet selection and decoration standards and styles
Any project Whether it is a new construction project, renovation or renovation of an old project, there are plans and standards in place. Whether it is decorated according to the five-star standard or the three-star standard; whether it is a Western style or a Chinese style; whether it is a classical style or a modern style. All these are the benchmarks for the type, grade, color, and pattern of carpets you choose. Only by adhering to the standard style of decoration and choosing carpets The unity can make your project perfect and achieve the purpose of icing on the cake.
Selection by area
(2) Principles for selecting carpets by area
A complete hotel project is composed of multiple different areas, including guest rooms and corridors , elevator halls, large and small restaurants, large and small conference rooms, reception rooms, as well as office areas, entertainment areas, etc. Due to the different functions of these areas, the flow of people and vehicles also varies. Whether it is quiet or noisy, cold or warm, in order to adapt to the particularity of the area, the selection of carpets in each area must respond to it, which is a matter of adaptability.
Adapt to the external environment
(3) Principles of carpet selection and adaptation to the external environment
What kind of external environment does your hotel or guesthouse exist in? , which has a great restriction on your choice of carpet. Annual average rainfall, average temperature, relative outdoor temperature, humidity, air quality, sanitation and greening are all factors to consider. Failure to take these factors into consideration will cause great trouble in the use of carpets. For example, in the winter of the past six months in Harbin, the city is very clean, but the ice and snow on guests' feet melt as soon as they enter the hotel, causing a lot of pollution to the corridors and guest room carpets. Shanxi is a major coal-producing province, and fine dust that is even invisible to the naked eye is brought into the hotel along with the shoes of the entrants, making carpet cleaning difficult. Therefore, when the external environment is special, more consideration should be given to the unity of the carpet category and the environment.
Conform to the project budget
(4) The principle of consistent carpet selection with the project budget
First of all, the grade of carpet should not be affected by the budget, but it can Adjustment. Machine-made carpets have different prices due to different production processes and different ratios of raw materials. This provides a lot of room for choice without lowering the grade of the carpet and still meeting the budget. For guest room carpets that are both made of 80% wool, due to different production processes, the prices of Axminster, Wilton, and wool tufted carpets are significantly different. Using 50% wool and 50% chemical fiber blends (except for nylon, chemical fibers such as polyester and acrylic are cheaper than wool), which can not only ensure the practical quality of the carpet, but also eliminate static electricity. The advantages and disadvantages of wool and chemical fiber are complementary, and they can also Reduce cost. In addition, the price can be reduced by reducing the thickness of the carpet and reducing the pile weight. In short, the variety, wool ratio, and pile weight should be adjusted within the same grade and category of carpets without reducing the category and grade of carpets, so as to unify the carpet quality with the project budget.
Shop around
(5) Adhere to the principle of shopping around when choosing carpets
Whether it is an imported carpet or a domestic carpet, the manufacturer will vary depending on the equipment. Differences in the selection of raw materials, processing techniques and management levels lead to differences in final products, varieties, quality, colors, prices and services. The selection of manufacturers through products can be completed through sample comparison, information analysis, enterprise inspection, etc., in order to achieve the purpose of selecting the best carpet and obtaining better services.
Cleaning
Carpet cleaning
1. Clean up promptly. Clean with a vacuum cleaner every day. Don't wait until a large amount of stains and dirt penetrate into the carpet fibers. Only by cleaning regularly will it be easy to clean. When cleaning carpets, be sure to sweep the floor beneath the carpet.
2. Apply evenly.
After the carpet has been used for several years, it is best to adjust its position so that it wears evenly. Once there are uneven areas, pat them gently or use a steam iron to iron them gently.
3. Decontamination methods. Ink stains can be wiped with citric acid, and the wiped area should be washed with clean water, and then wiped away with a dry towel: coffee, cocoa, and tea stains can be removed with glycerin: fruit juice can be removed with cold water and a small amount of dilute ammonia solution: paint stains You can use gasoline and washing powder to make a porridge, apply it to the painted area at night, wash it with warm water the next morning, and then use a dry towel to absorb the water.
4. Remove foreign matter. If there are some fluff, paper scraps and other lightweight materials left on the carpet, a vacuum cleaner can take care of it. If you accidentally break a glass on the carpet, you can use wider tape to stick up the broken glass: If the broken glass is powdery, you can use cotton dipped in water to stick it up, and then use a vacuum cleaner to suck it up.
5. If there are scorch marks on the carpet, if it is not serious, you can use a hard-bristled brush or a nickel to brush off the burned part of the hair. If there are serious scorch marks, press it with a book and wait until it dries before combing it.
6. Dedust carpets. Soak the broom in soapy water and sweep the carpet, keep the broom moist, then sprinkle with fine salt, sweep with the broom again, and finally wipe with a dry rag. When cleaning carpets, you can wash and dry chemical fiber carpets if possible. Pure wool carpets have to be left in the sun for a while. Pay attention to turning the carpet over and drying it. Hang it on a rope and beat it with a thin stick to remove as much dust as possible. This can also effectively kill mites on carpets. (Chengdu Xiaoya Cleaning provides reference)
Tips
Although carpet cleaning is not a common thing, it is indeed troublesome. Many owners will give up using carpets because of cleaning problems. Pour 500 ml of clean water into the basin, then add two or three drops of Fengyoujing or toilet water. Use a broom dipped in the mixed water to clean the carpet, which can moisturize the indoor air and prevent mosquitoes in summer.
Vinegar eliminates pet odors from carpets
Add 4 cups of vinegar to 4 liters of warm water, soak it with a towel, wring it out, and wipe it clean. Vinegar not only prevents carpets from discoloring or fading, but it also eliminates pet odors (soda can also deodorize). After wiping, place it in a ventilated place to dry. Carpet Dust Removal Method When cleaning carpets, you can sprinkle some salt first, which has the function of suppressing dust from flying. Because salt can absorb dust, even the smallest dust particles can be cleaned cleanly. At the same time, it can also make the carpet more durable and keep the color bright.
How to remove coffee stains from carpet
If you accidentally spill coffee on the carpet, you can first absorb the water with a dry cloth or tissue paper, and then mix an equal amount of Sprinkle liquor and rubbing alcohol on the stain and wipe it away with a dry cloth. If white wine is not available, vinegar will have the same effect. In view of this, if you have leftover liquor at home, you can make good use of it to keep your home clean. In addition to coffee, food stains that are easily stained, including black tea, can also be removed with the same method.
How to remove chewing gum stuck to the carpet
First put ice cubes in a plastic bag and press it on top of the chewing gum to let the chewing gum solidify. Then press it with your hands to test. Wait until the chewing gum When it is completely hardened, use a brush or toothbrush to remove it, and finally brush it thoroughly with a brush. Never use chemical thinners arbitrarily, as this will damage the carpet and cause more harm than good.
Daily maintenance and upkeep
Vacuuming
Vacuuming is the most basic task for carpet maintenance and must be done every day. It is best to vacuum each part twice. The first time is against the carpet pile. Although the force is high, it can vacuum thoroughly. The second time is along the carpet pile, which can restore the original pile direction of the carpet. , to avoid pile disorder and color difference in the carpet. It should be emphasized that no matter how many times you vacuum the carpet, the last time you vacuum the carpet must be along the direction of the pile head.
When vacuuming carpets in public areas, vacuum equipment with a rotating pile vibrator should be used for daily vacuum cleaning. The vibrator usually includes one or more brush strips, which can more effectively remove dust from the surface or deep inside the carpet. Be sure to vacuum the carpet thoroughly every day from the day it is used. Never think of vacuuming it thoroughly tomorrow. Once the dust accumulates, it will be difficult to remove it with daily vacuuming.
Carpets are wool textiles and have been sheared. It is normal for new carpets to have a small amount of floating hair and sheared lint. Therefore, new carpets should be vacuumed twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. , the floating hair phenomenon can be eliminated after one month.
Carpet Cleaning
Regular washing of carpets in different areas can restore the original appearance of the carpet and extend its service life. There are two basic methods of carpet cleaning, one is dry cleaning and the other is wet cleaning. No matter which method you choose to clean your carpet, it should only be done by professionals with good professional training. [3]
Dry cleaning
There are two methods of dry cleaning carpets:
*Foam dry cleaning is the most common foam cleaning method for carpet surfaces. Foam dry cleaning machines use Equipped with a rotating brush and an implanted wet vacuum suction head, a large amount of detergent is sprayed on the piles of the carpet surface. Under the action of the rolling brush, the detergent cleans the piles and then uses a vacuum suction machine to absorb the washing foam and suspended particles. dust.
*Dry extraction removal method
This method is to spray a mixture of solvent, emulsifier, water and detergent on the carpet surface manually or from a distribution container, and then brush it into the carpet through the washing equipment. Rotate the carpet pile for 30 minutes and then absorb the detergent and dust.
Dry cleaning is a surface cleaning, which can effectively restore the cleanliness of the carpet surface, but it does not remove the dirt hidden deep in the carpet. In order to be thorough, it must be cleaned.
Wet cleaning
When the carpet's oil stains and other sticky substances have obviously accumulated, and the accumulation of dust and dirt has affected the color of the carpet and the resilience of the carpet pile, and dry cleaning cannot eradicate it, Carpets should be wet cleaned, that is, cleaned thoroughly.
There are two methods for wet cleaning carpets:
*Spray cleaning method
This method is to spray hot water and detergent under pressure onto the carpet. , use carpet cleaning equipment equipped with rotating or oscillating brushes under the action of water and detergent to separate dirt from the fibers and suck it away.
*Steam cleaning method
This is a carpet cleaning method that is very effective in removing dirt embedded in the carpet piles and dirt on the surface of the carpet, and is the most thorough cleaning method. Also called extraction cleaning method. A steam solvent composed of a mixture of water and cleaning fluid released by a special steam dry cleaning machine is sprayed on the carpet, and then stirred by a mechanical swing brush to remove the dirt from the carpet fibers and suspend it in the solvent through the implanted vacuum suction device. Head clear.
Carpets and Health
When people move into a new home, they often buy carpets to decorate their rooms. However, carpets have subtle harm to the human body, which is often not known.
Most carpet fabrics have thicker warp and weft lines and larger gaps, which are easier to accumulate dust. Trace amounts of dust particles escape into the indoor air, polluting the clean air. After heating indoors in winter, these dust particles will change their original properties and become a gaseous substance that is more harmful to the human body.
In recent years, a disease caused by carpets has appeared in Japan, and most of the patients are young children. Its main symptom is a fever that does not go away, and the effect of taking medicine is not great. Then the tongue swells, the skin on the hands peels, and in severe cases, death.
This is caused by microorganisms "tick mites" that breed in carpets. This microorganism feeds on cell debris shed from human skin. Once it enters the lungs or bronchial tubes, it will make people sick. However, young children have weak resistance and love to play on carpets, so they have the highest incidence rate.
Experts suggest that it is best not to cover the floor with large carpets; the second is to use wooden floor blocks put together to pave the floor; the third is to use floor leather to pave the floor; the fourth is to cover the floor in front of the bed and sofa Place a small rug in front.
Laving construction standards
1. Before the carpet can be laid, the interior decoration must be completed. All heavy equipment indoors has been put in place, debugged and operated, and has been verified to meet qualified standards.
2. The base layer for laying floor carpets must be flat, smooth and clean. If there is any oil stain, it must be wiped clean with acetone or turpentine. If it is a cement floor, it should have a certain strength and the moisture content should not be greater than 8%.
3. After entering the site, carpets, pads and adhesives should be checked to see if their quantity, variety, specifications, colors, patterns, etc. meet the design requirements. If they do, they should be stored in dry warehouses or rooms according to their varieties and specifications. Before use, it must be pre-paved, decorated with flowers, and numbered. The design to be paved can be taken according to the number.
The skirting boards around rooms and walkways that require carpeting should be prepared in advance. The construction technology of the lower opening of the skirting board
should be about 8mm away from the ground so that the rough edge of the carpet can be hidden under the skirting board
4. Before large-scale construction, a large construction sample should be released and a model should be made. Construction according to the requirements of the model can be organized only after the quality inspection department has passed the appraisal.
Operating technology:
1. Process flow
Basic treatment→Stretching, squaring, dividing and positioning→Carpet cutting→Nailing barbed tapestry strips→Laying pads→Laying carpets→Detail processing and cleaning
2. Movable laying: refers to a method of sticking to the base layer without adhesive, that is, the laying is not fixed with the base layer, and the surroundings can be trimmed along the corners. Generally only suitable for the laying of decorative craft carpets.
3. Fixed laying operation process:
1) Base layer treatment: The base layer for laying carpets is usually a cement floor, but it can also be a wooden floor or other material. The surface is required to be flat, smooth and clean. If there is any oil stain, it must be wiped clean with acetone or turpentine. If it is a cement floor, it should have a certain strength, the moisture content should not be greater than 8%, and the surface flatness deviation should not be greater than 4mm.
2) Lines, squares, grids, and positioning: Lines, squares, and grids must be drawn in strict accordance with the specific requirements of different parts and rooms in the design drawings. The drawings have regulations and requirements. If it is clear, the construction will be carried out strictly according to the drawings. If there are no specific requirements in the drawing, you should find the center symmetrically and play the line to position the laying.
3) Carpet cutting: Carpet cutting should be carried out centrally and uniformly in a relatively wide area. Be sure to accurately measure the room dimensions and register the numbers by room and type of carpet used. Then use an edge trimmer to cut off the carpet material according to the size and shape of the room. The length of each carpet section is about 2cm longer than the room. The width should be calculated based on the size after cutting off the edge line of the carpet. Cut off the edge of the elastic thread, and then cut it from the back of the carpet with a hand cutter. After cutting, roll it into a roll and number it, and put it into the room of the right number. For large rooms, the seams should be cut at the construction site.
4) Nail the barbed board tapestry strips: Along the edge of the skirting board around the room or walkway, use high-strength cement nails to nail the barbed board to the base layer (the nails are facing the direction of the wall), with a spacing of about 40cm. The barb board should be 8-10mm away from the baseboard surface to facilitate nailing the barb board.
5) Laying the liner: Apply 107 glue or polyvinyl acetate latex to the liner using the point-sticking method, and stick it to the ground base layer, leaving it about 10mm away from the barbed board.
6) Laying the carpet:
a. Sewing the carpet: Lay the cut carpet on the cushion, then roll up the carpet and sew at the joints. After the sewing is completed, use plastic tape to stick to the seam to protect the seam from being scratched or lifted. Then lay the carpet flat and use a curved needle to make dense sutures at the seam.
b. Stretching and fixing the carpet: First fix one long edge of the carpet on the barbed board, hide the raw edge under the skirting board, and use carpet supports to stretch the carpet. When stretching, press the carpet support with your hands, hit the carpet support with your knees, and push from one side to the other step by step. If it cannot be flattened in one pass, the stretching should be repeated until it is flattened. Then fix the carpet to another barbed board and hide the raw edges. If the carpet grows, cut it off with a cutting knife. After stretching in one direction, stretch in the other direction until all four sides are fixed on the barbed board.
c. When laying a carpet, first apply adhesive on one side of the room, lay out the pre-cut carpet, and then use carpet supports to stretch it to both sides; then paint two strips along the wall. Adhesive, flatten the carpet to cover the edges.
7) Detailed processing and cleaning: Pay attention to the processing of door battens and door frames, walkways and halls, floors and pipe roots, heating covers, trough boxes, walkways and bathroom thresholds, stair treads and aisle platforms, and inner doors. The over-cutting, fixing and edge-covering work of carpets on exterior doors, junctions of carpets of different colors, skirting boards and other parts must be firmly bonded, and there should be no exposed, patched strips or other destructive work. After the carpet is laid and the closing strips are fixed, it should be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and the fluff that has fallen off the carpet surface should be thoroughly cleaned.
