Why can Zhouyi predict things?

My first teacher was Professor Wan Xianchu from Wuhan University. I remember taking photos on the first day of class and sending them to my circle of friends. Colleagues and friends were surprised, saying that Zhouyi was so abstruse and difficult to understand. So I began to think, hoping to write my learning experience in simple words. This series is updated every 1-2 days and is expected to be completed in 2 years. Yesterday, I introduced the author and the writing time of the Book of Changes. Today, I will talk about why I can predict things. What is the principle behind it.

Yarrow for divination in Zhouyi

There are two kinds of people who study the Book of Changes: the Yi School and the Image School.

The study of righteousness and reason is to extract hexagrams, study the philosophical connotation of hexagrams, and understand the truth from them to guide life.

Like mathematics school, it is divination, which analyzes what each divination represents and is used to predict personnel.

To be more grounded, there are two ways to learn Zhouyi, one is to watch Mao Zedong Thought, and the other is to play tarot cards.

The rationalist school studies philosophical truth.

Zhouyi and Shu Shu's predictions (numerology, eight characters, geomantic omen, strange door, etc. It is inevitable to compare with ghosts, immortals and demons in traditional concepts. This has a lot to do with folk myths and the rendering of movies and TV plays. I don't understand the fairy family, which belongs to the category of respecting and maintaining independence. In the process of studying Zhouyi and Eight Characters, I got the most real and objective principle of four words: analogy.

What is image analogy? For example, the nature of water is flowing. Besides water, there are other things with the same flow characteristics. For example, stations, tourism and talent markets are all relatively mobile scenes, so they can be seen in the five elements of "water". What else is there? Is it okay for people? Of course. Some people's personalities often change. They just come up with a plan and change their minds in less than a few minutes, or they are very smart and have many ideas. These are the characteristics of action, and people with these characteristics can also be regarded as the "water" of the five elements.

Back to the divination in Zhouyi, we use a symbol to represent the "water" just mentioned, and then give this symbol a name called "Kan". The divinatory symbol represents water, and this symbol represents an image with similar characteristics to water. Whether it is interpreted as "station" or "talent market" or a person who often changes his mind depends on the actual situation of the problem.

There are so many people and things in the world that one symbol is definitely not enough, so different symbols should be mixed and matched to represent more different connotations. And the principle of China's other skills, most of them never give up. Having said that, everyone will understand that Zhouyi is actually a process of expressing various natural phenomena and laws between heaven and earth with symbols, and then deducing things with similar properties.
