Fengqiu Pomegranate, also known as Fengqiu Pomegranate, is named after its concentrated production in Fengqiu to Peilou Village, Chen Qiao Township. It has a long history of cultivation and was given as a tribute as early as the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. In 1950s, Premier Zhou Enlai sent people to Fengqiu to visit pomegranate production. In 1960s, in order to protect and develop the famous and excellent variety resources, Fengqiu pomegranate was sold overseas as a fist commodity. 1986 Fengqiu was designated as pomegranate production base.
Pomegranate has a long fruiting period in Chen Qiao, so it is not uncommon to see the "Pomegranate King" with a century-old tree here. Although it has gone through a hundred years of vicissitudes, it is still flourishing and fruitful.
