Emperor Kangxi was buried in the Qing Dongling, but why did Yong Zhengdi choose the Qing Xiling?

Yongzheng didn't choose the Qing Dongling buried in his ancestors. He should consider his own situation and think that Qing Xiling is more suitable for him.

There is a saying that the ancient emperor died and was buried. They always asked feng shui masters to choose a place with good feng shui before their death, which was a very important thing in ancient times. After all, the emperor's position is very noble. Qing Dongling has its own ancestors there. Yongzheng felt that he was buried there again without the domineering of the first person in the ages and would not be remembered by history books, so he chose the place of Qing Xiling.

In addition, feng shui master told him that the feng shui where he was buried in the early Qing Dynasty was not very good, which made Yongzheng want to find a better place. After all, he has been in office for so many years, and he wants to live in peace after death. Therefore, under the recommendation of Feng Shui master, he chose Qing Xiling. It is said that the geomantic omen and environment in this place are better than those in Qing Dynasty, so this idea is beneficial to Yongzheng.

There is also a saying that Yongzheng became emperor and was not succeeded by the first emperor. Some history says that he became emperor after changing the imperial edict, and that he dared not meet his ancestors after his death, so he dared not be buried in the Qing Dongling, where his father and grandfather were present. But I think this may just be a rumor. After all, Yongzheng's ability is still ok. During his reign, the development of the Qing Dynasty was also possible. Later, when Qianlong became emperor, it was changed to the tradition of burial by generations, that is, one generation of emperors was buried in the east and the other in the west. I think this is also smart. The practices of his ancestors cannot be overturned, and both sides respect it. Yongzheng should just want to be different from his previous ancestors. Considering Feng Shui, he chose Qing Xiling for burial.
