Who is Zhanggong Temple commemorating?
It is said that Zhanggong Temple in Song Gui was originally called "Memorial Hall of Zhang Gong of Yuan Xun", which was built in the seventh year of Wanli (1578). At the beginning, there was only one god shed, about ten feet square, which contained the gods of the Founding Fathers. Later, a piece of fir bark was blown away by the wind, and it has been blown away until now, even the Zhanggong Temple on the beach is located, so people think that this is an act of God, so even the beach people have built a Zhanggong Temple here. Since 1578, when Zhanggong Temple was built, Xining County has been occupied by the Ming and Qing armies for many times, and the situation is chaotic. However, Liantan, the center of Luoding, Dong 'an and Xining counties, was not directly affected by the military conflict. This place seemed to be a peaceful place in troubled times, and the locals attributed this phenomenon to Zhang Yuanxun's asylum and gradually deified Zhang Yuanxun. It's an old rumor that Lian Tan, Yu Maba Hou En Jin Rong went to the countryside to urge the department in the winter of the fifth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1866) and toured Xiquan Academy in Lian Tan. One day after dinner, an old man in white in Lu Yu said to him after walking outside the courtyard, "The western bandits invaded the county, and you are still wandering around here?" Yi Hou was taken aback and quickly asked his name. The old man said, "Zhang!" When the city asked again, the old man had drifted away in the direction of Zhanggong Temple. The city was even more surprised when it saw the situation, and hurried back to the county seat, immediately stepped up its alert and organized the four townships to prepare for resistance. When the western bandits came, they saw red lights and surrounded by military forces outside the city. Knowing that they were on guard, they did not dare to invade rashly, so they fled away. The city magistrate quelled the invasion of the western bandits without a single soldier and a general. Afterwards, the mayor thanked Zhang Gongye for his thought of defending against disasters and saving the people, so he wrote a four-character plaque "Defending against disasters and defending against disasters" in person, hung it on the temple hall of Zhang Gongmiao, and wrote a couple of couplets to remember this: the foreign bandits did not dare to invade, and in the light of the lights, they saw the shining golden armor soldiers from afar; The bandit turned into a wolf thief, and he was on the river road. Fortunately, he was warned by the old man in white. When the news came out, the incense in Zhanggong Temple was more prosperous. Whenever the county was in trouble, the gods would warn the police first to protect public order. Since Xianfeng and Tongzhi, there have been many bandits and chaos, but even a corner of the beach has been celebrated safely. This matter is also contained in the "Old Xining County Records". Liantan Zhanggong Temple Fair is held on the 2th of the first month and the 6th of August every year. A small celebration in five years, a anniversary in ten years. On the sixth day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar in the first year of the lunar calendar, this day is considered by local people as Zhang Gong's birthday. At that time, please ask Taoist Nan Zhai for three days and three nights. During the period, dozens of Taishan around sang and performed, and the drums and drums were endless. Three days later, I respectfully invite the Bodhisattva to travel. The patrol team, according to Liantan-Xiba-Dongba-Liantan, walked for dozens of miles on both sides of the Nanjiang River, and the patrol time was as long as twelve days. Zhanggong Temple was founded in the 6th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (1578), and was Zhang Yuanxun, the general commander of Guangdong in Ming Dynasty. Zhang Yuanxun, a world minister, was a professional sea guard in Xinhe in the Ming Dynasty. Shen Yi had a plan, and he was a policeman. He was under the command of Qi Jiguang, and he made meritorious service and entered the company commander. In the fifth year of Wanli (1577), he was the chief soldier officer, guarding Guangdong. He led his troops to quell the "Yao chaos" in Liantan area, and later generations built temples. Liantan Zhanggong Temple is one of the relatively complete surviving Ming Dynasty ancient buildings in our county. In 1985, it was listed as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in Yunan County, and in 1986, it was donated by compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao and the masses for maintenance and gradually restored to its original appearance. Zhanggong Temple is located on the right side of Liantan Middle School in Liantan Town. It was built in Wanli of Ming Dynasty (1587) and has been rebuilt for 422 years. The temple was rebuilt five times, the first time was built in the 27th year of Wanli (1599), and the Qing Dynasty also built and expanded it to varying degrees. The last reconstruction was in the third year of Guangxu (1877). The first seat is a building with two rooms, and in the middle is the Hall of God, where statues of the Founding Fathers, Miss Zhang and other generals are presented. On the right side of the entrance is the kitchen, and on the left is the residence, negotiation place and storage room of the temple and others. On the left, there is an ear-shaped building with three rooms for worshippers to rest and so on. The temple seat is west to northeast, which was originally a building group composed of internal and external buildings. The main buildings are front hall, main hall, quadrangle pavilion, annex hall and cloister. The front and back yards have auxiliary buildings such as stage, battery, hexagonal pavilion, gray brick plastic lion and fence. Before liberation, people from Sanluo (Yunan, Luoding, Yunfu) and other places came to participate in the Temple Birthday every day (the 2th day of the first lunar month), which was very lively. After liberation, the battery and other ancillary buildings in the backyard were demolished to build a granary, and the stage, gatehouse, fence and double lions in the front yard were demolished during the ten-year catastrophe, leaving only the main construction area of 19 square meters. The temples are arranged vertically and horizontally, with the front hall, the four-corner pavilion in the middle and the main hall in the back, with annex halls and cloisters on both sides. The layout is balanced and symmetrical, with a square plane. In front of the gate of the temple, there are two granite pillars supporting the flying head, covered with green glazed tiles, and six lattice columns supporting the weight in the main hall, with a column foundation and a bucket arch. The columns are arranged in rows and columns, forming a bright room and a spacious room. Painted with carved beams, gorgeous and magnificent. What is more worthy of appreciation is that the walls of the hall are engraved with all kinds of poems and colorful paintings, inlaid with all kinds of carved paintings with unparalleled craftsmanship, with vivid ancient tasks, exquisite and unique birds and all decorations, retaining the artistic characteristics of southern architecture in Ming and Qing Dynasties, which has certain artistic and historical research value. Introduction to Zhanggong Temple Fair, a provincial intangible cultural heritage list project, is located in Liantan Town, Yunan County, the hometown of folk culture and art in China. Liantan Zhanggong Temple was built to commemorate Zhang Yuanxun, the chief soldier of Guangdong Province in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, and has been built for more than 4 years. Zhang Yuanxun was originally the Ministry of Qi Jiguang, a famous anti-Japanese soldier, and was promoted to Guangdong company commanders because of his meritorious service in anti-Japanese war. In the middle of the Ming Dynasty, there was an indigenous rebellion in Luopang Mountain area (that is, counties and areas under the jurisdiction of Yunfu City today), which lasted for decades. In the fourth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Yuanxun was ordered to lead the troops to counter the rebellion. According to the Inscription of Zhanggong Temple, it is said that "the land eroded over the years will be returned to the territory", "the traveler sings, and the person who lives in peace", and the officials and the people feel their kindness, "so the temple was built and enshrined in the beach". Therefore, Zhang Yuanxun was named as the general of "protecting the country and protecting the people" by the Wanli emperor of the Ming Dynasty. In Liantan, the legend, customs and culture of Zhang Gong attract hundreds of thousands of believers from all over the world to pay homage every year.
