In France, Cixi wanted nothing to grow in the tomb, but after half a month, many cauldrons appeared in front of the tomb.

Tongzhi five years, Xianfeng Emperor Dingling completed. According to the system of Qing dynasty, the tombs of his empresses Ci 'an and Cixi can only be located near Dingling, and only one queen can be built. At that time, it was decided to build tombs for the two queens, and the coffins were placed side by side peacefully. Cixi was very angry when she saw the throne: "In which mausoleum were the two Empresses buried? Even the concubines in the Imperial Palace have their own tickets. Isn't this obviously bullying our sisters? " The ministers who undertook the renovation had to suggest that Baocheng, Baoding and underground palace be built side by side in the backyard of the mausoleum, imitating the pattern of the bedroom of the Double Princess Garden. Unexpectedly, Cixi forced her to ask, "Are we two dandies? Who says we don't deserve to build our own mausoleum? " This is another time to break the mausoleum system, but who dares not listen?

So, on March 9th, 12th year of Tongzhi, Tomb-Sweeping Day, 18-year-old Tongzhi went to Dingling, where a ceremony was held to worship Emperor Xianfeng. Then I went to Pingdingshan and nearby Putuo Mountain to see Feng Shui. On June 5438+05, Pingdingshan was renamed as "Puxiangyu", which has been an auspicious place of Ci 'an for thousands of years. Putuo Mountain was changed to "Putuo Valley", which has been an auspicious place in Cixi for thousands of years. Shuangling started construction in August of that year and was completed in June of Guangxu five years, which took six years and cost more than 5 million yuan. There were only two tombs of Xianfeng Empress in Qing Dynasty, which was unique in Qing Dynasty. These two Ding Dong mausoleums are the highest-ranking queen mausoleums in the Qing Dynasty. Compared with other empresses' tombs, there are more stone tablets and demolition boards. Qian Luling was named Ding Dongling of Puxiang Valley, and Ci Xiling was named Ding Dongling of Putuo Valley.

After the mausoleum was repaired, it occurred to Cixi that her mausoleum should be barren, otherwise it would be a "fugitive". The original intention of becoming an outlaw is that just people leave society and become bandits after wandering to barren hills and wild forests. However, Cixi insisted on having sex with her mausoleum, thinking that it would be unlucky if her mausoleum grew grass, so Cixi handed down a will that the mausoleum could not grow grass.

This stumped the person in charge of building the mausoleum. It is difficult not to plant grass for several years, and it is difficult not to plant grass for decades and hundreds of years. The contractor of the mausoleum pondered for more than half a month and tried several methods, but failed to find a perfect one. Later, someone at hand suggested frying raw soil with saltpeter and sulfur. The contractor tried this method, which is better than the original method. Finally, the contractor ordered people to put a hundred large iron pots in front of the tomb, which were fried in full swing, and then sealed the top of Dingling. Sure enough, nothing grows.

After the mausoleum was built completely according to Cixi's intention, Cixi found that although the mausoleum was built with strict regulations and complete codes, it was a fine work among tombs in the Qing Dynasty. When Cixi's own mausoleum was exactly the same as Ci 'an Mausoleum in scale and regulation, Cixi was not satisfied. In the 21st year of Guangxu, Cixi ordered the demolition and reconstruction of Fangcheng, Minglou, Baocheng, Long 'en Hall, East-West Hall and East-West Kitchen. Buildings such as Gongmen, Fangchao, Xiaobei Building and Shenchu Library have been exposed for maintenance, and underground palace coupons and stone five sacrifices are also under maintenance. The reconstruction project lasted 13 years, from November 24th, 21st year of Guangxu to October 31st year of Guangxu. Coincidentally, Cixi died a few days after the mausoleum was rebuilt. Perhaps Cixi was anxious to lie in her perfect grave.

A year later, in October of the first year of Xuantong, Cixi was buried in the underground palace. How many treasures were buried with Cixi? Li, the confidant eunuch of Cixi, personally attended the burial ceremony of Cixi's coffin. According to "Notes on Love Moon Xuan" written by him and his nephew in, before Cixi's body entered the coffin, there were three layers of gold beads and a layer of pearls at the bottom of the coffin.

Cixi's funerary objects were so luxurious that many people naturally envied them, and at that time, the Qing Dynasty was already crumbling, so it was certain that it could not stay. Twenty years later, Sun Dianying led an army to pry open the coffin of Cixi and looted all the treasures in the tomb. However, the body of Cixi was abandoned in the wilderness. After the theft, Puyi hurriedly sent someone to be reburied. Later, after the coffin of Cixi was opened by experts, it was confirmed by many textual researches that the complete skeleton of the coffin was Cixi, with yellow silk wrapped in the middle and upper body, embroidered with the word "longevity" in the lower body pants, white stockings on the right foot and the left foot exposed.
