Tianhou Palace, also known as Tianfei Palace, is located in the west of Rome Street in Zhongxing Town and has a history of more than 300 years. There are two buildings before and after the Tianhou Palace. The one facing the street (Roman Street) is called Qian Dian. The brick carving on the east wall of the front hall is "Heqing" and the brick carving on the west wall is "Haiyan"; "Heqing" and "Haiyan" mean "the world is peaceful". The main building is called Houdian, which is large in scale and has a magnificent hall for Maureen's statue. Tianhou Palace was built by Fujian businessmen. The design, materials and construction are all foreigners, especially the architectural art, such as carved beams and painted buildings, brick carvings and small tile cornices, all of which are integrated with the factors of Minnan culture. According to legend, the god worshipped was the female forest in Meizhou, Putian, Fujian Province in the Song Dynasty, named Mo. She is the Poseidon in charge of maritime shipping, and she is charitable. She often rescues shipwrecked fishermen by herself and helps the fishing industry, and her merits are boundless. She is the patron saint in the eyes of people in coastal areas. Fujian people come to Si to do business, and they also bring this "Poseidon" to pray for peace and wealth. Tianhou Palace, formerly known as Tianfei Palace, was named Tianhou Palace after Emperor Kangxi visited Zhongxing Town and passed through Tianfei Palace. According to legend, when Taiwan Province was unified in the 19th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (AD 1690), Maureen, the sea god, appeared to help. This southern culture of Fujian merchants has always been recognized by Siyang people. Since the Song and Jin Dynasties, the people of Siyang have suffered from floods, and they have pinned their hopes on Tianhou. Every year, on God's birthday (April 14 of the lunar calendar, also April 8) and Wang Shuo's day, people go to the Tianhou Palace to burn incense and pray, and form a custom.
