Brief introduction of Mount David in Tonggu County
Datong Mountain in Tonggu County is located at the junction of Jiangxi Province and Hunan Province, adjacent to Tonggu County in the east, Wanzai County in the south, Liuyang County in Hunan Province in the west and Pingjiang County in Hunan Province in the north, about 16 km away from Tonggu County. Lai Ping, deputy director of Tongda Weishan Ecological Public Welfare Forest Farm, introduced that Dagu Mountain belongs to the branch of Luoxiao Mountain and is the birthplace of rivers such as Hexiu and Liuyang River. Tonggu Tianzhu Peak National Forest Park is an important part of it.
The mountain range in the east is Tonggu County, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, called "Dashan", and the mountain range in the northwest belongs to Liuyang City, Hunan Province, called "Dawei Mountain". Both names have a long history. It is recorded in the Records of Xijiang River by Kangxi in Qing Dynasty: "Datun is 150 miles southwest of Ningzhou, east to Xinchang and south to Xingguo." Tonggu County belonged to Ningzhou (now Wuning County) in ancient times, and this "big cup" refers to the big cup mountain of Tonggu.
In addition, the Qing Dynasty Jiaqing's "Tongzhi" records: "Surrounded by mountains on all sides, all four counties occupy it, and the four sides are the most prosperous." This is the origin of the name of Dawei Mountain in Hunan. The four counties refer to Tonggu, Wanzai, Liuyang and Pingjiang.
Tongxian County is located in the northwest border of our province, on the east side of the northern end of Luo Xiao Mountains, upstream of Hexiu. The whole terrain inclines from southwest to northeast. The county seat is wide in the west and narrow in the east, with rolling mountains, and the top of the mountain is only over 20 kilometers. The peak of the Drum Tower is very distinctive, with some "red" areas and various forms of Danxia landscape; The eastern part is relatively flat and the land is relatively concentrated.

Dawei Mountain is surrounded by numerous peaks. Because of the high mountains around, this area has formed a "isolated" natural geographical environment. High altitude and closed terrain make it foggy all year round, full of original mysterious beauty.
Abundant rainfall, fertile soil and rich humus provide a "hotbed" for the growth of vegetation. The vegetation coverage rate in this area is as high as 99.5%, and the valley is accompanied by clouds and rain all the year round, foggy and humid. This series of natural factors are superimposed together, forming a forest microclimate of "no heat in summer and no cold in winter" in mountainous areas.
"There are trees in the mountains, running water in the forest, sloping fields in the water and fertile soil in the ground, which are suitable for farming and planting." This is the description of David by the ancients. The natural geographical environment of Dawei Mountain is "outstanding", which can be described as a treasure house for plant growth and reproduction. According to reports, the whole Dawei Mountain has 70,000 mu of forest land, including 25,000 mu of bamboo forest, 22,000 mu of artificial forest and 23,000 mu of natural broad-leaved forest, which is known as the "green pearl of western Jiangxi".
