The Historical Evolution of Wan Yan Family

There is a village called Wanyan Village in Jingchuan County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province. Looking from the northwest of the fierce battle between Song and Jin in Jingchuan (known as Anding in ancient times) more than 800 years ago, there are several steamed-headed hills in Wanyan Village, which extend to the horizon. This is the peculiar "Nine Plum Blossom Mountains". It is strange not because it is mountainous or steep, but because it twists and turns like a blooming plum blossom overlooking the mountain peak. The tragic legend of Jiuhua Mountain is closely related to the Wan Yan family.

Located at the foot of Jiumeihua Mountain, on the terrace of the river bank, there are a group of silent villagers who have been persistently guarding a mysterious ancient tomb for 800 years. It is said that the owner of the tomb is Wan, the son of Jin Wushu. Surprisingly, after so many years, the villagers still maintain their family customs.

A descendant of Wan Yan family, who lives in Jingchuan, Pingliang, Gansu Province, has lived with the local people * * * for more than 800 years since 1 138, and it is difficult to see their differences from the appearance. It is true that ethnic integration and mutual learning is the trend and law of historical development. The national characteristics are easily perceived from the outside, such as customs and religious beliefs, while the national psychology and feelings hidden in their inner world are relatively hidden.

After the Yuan Dynasty destroyed the gold, there was a policy of "forgiving only the family", but only the descendants of Hong Yan who guarded the mausoleum under the "Jiuding Meihua Mountain" kept Hong Yan's surname. These jurchens are not ordinary people, but defeated generals and royal descendants. They changed from aristocrats to civilians, and then intermarried with local people, and gradually transitioned to local aborigines in the process of learning from each other's strengths and getting along for a long time.

The related history and reality of Wan Yan family.

The residents of Wanyan Village, a descendant of Jurchen, mainly come from the Wanyan family, with more than 3,000 people. Speaking of the origin of Wanyan Village, it involves the famous story of Yue Fei's fight against Jin Wu in the history of China. This Jin Wushu is the fourth son of Akuta in Hong Yan, Jin Taizu-Hong Yanzong Bi, an official worship, who took the lead in saving trouble. He was a marshal, led the provincial ministers, sealed Liang Wang, and gave him a gold roll (borrowed gold roll). Tongdi died in Beijing in the eighth year (1 148). His son Wan, whose real name is overlapping, has been fighting with his father since childhood, being brave and good at fighting, and has repeatedly made meritorious deeds. When Emperor Xizong of Jin appointed Wang Rui, he added Yin Qing to Meng 'an (a thousand households) as Dr. Rong Lu. Tiande first entered the country, according to the gold system, and the official was a product. "Imperial clan avoided it." In the ninth year of Jin Dynasty (A.D. 1 149), Yan Yanliang, king of Hailing, usurped the throne and proclaimed himself emperor. At first, Heng was the right-back general, and later he was transferred to Guangning Yin on the pretext of being calm (near Zhengding, Hebei Province). Finally, in the second year of Jin Zhenyuan (16544) and the sixth year of Jin Zhenyuan (1 16 1), when Hailing sent someone to kill the royal family, he also killed Shan, Dai Fei and Hengzi Yangti. In order to avoid persecution, in case his family moved to Anding County, now Jingchuan County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, Wan was moved and buried on the "Jiuding Meihua Mountain" in Anding County under the rule of the former Jinwu Department and the Shan family of Princess Rui, with the help of relatives and friends. In the same year, Hailing was in chaos and Sejong acceded to the throne. In the early years of Dading in Jin Shizong (A.D. 1 16 1), Yan Heng, the official title, was restored and was named Hanwang. In the seventeenth year of Dading (1 177), the Heng couple and their son were reburied and the mausoleum was rebuilt. As grave keepers, the Hong Yan family thrived on both sides of the Jinghe River. Because Wan Yanheng was Wang Rui before his death, the local people called Wan Yanheng's tomb "Wang Rui's Tomb", and Wanyan Village still has names such as "Rui Wangzui" and "Rui Wang Ping", which can also prove this point.

After hundreds of years of historical vicissitudes, the descendants of Jin Wushu, who once galloped in the north of China and drove the Zhao and Song Dynasties to the south of the Yangtze River, have completely sinicized and become local aborigines, claiming to be Han nationality. The only thing left is the ancestor's surname-Hong Yan, and the historical pain of romantic dramas such as Yue Fei's war with Jin Wushu. Now Jingchuan County of Pingliang City belongs to Wanyan Village of Wangcun Township and Wanyanwa of Hedao Township, with 926 households and 4 180 people. It has moved to Pingliang, Lanzhou, Baoji, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and other provinces and cities in Gansu, and there are still more than 20 households 120 people. According to incomplete statistics, Jingchuan is the most populous area in China.

Abandoned cave

Standing on the south bank of Jinghe River, looking north, Wanyan Village is surrounded by green trees. On the edge of the cliff, there is a cave with holes, some with complete doors and windows, and some with big black holes, which are obviously abandoned. Walking north on the Jinghe River, I found two ravines that are neither wide nor deep, dividing the village into two parts. There are hundreds of caves with different old and new caves on both sides of the cliff ditch, almost all of which are idle and uninhabited. According to the villagers, from a long time ago, the ancestors of Wan Yan's family ended their life on horseback and started farming, and gradually merged with the local Han nationality and dug caves in the mountains to live. Great changes have taken place in Wanyan Village since the reform and opening up, and the descendants of Jin Wushu have lived a better life than before. When farmers are rich, the first thing they think of is building a house. In recent years, every household in Wanyan Village has built spacious and bright new tile houses, and finally bid farewell to the caves where ancestors lived. From horseback to cave, from cave to tile house, the descendants of Jin Wushu finally completed a great leap in history.

The lost tomb

Climb up Ruiwangping along a steep ravine path in Wanyan East Village, and you will be suddenly enlightened. In front of you is the widest and flattest terrace in Jinghe River Basin. On the north side of the platform, three steamed bread-like hills stand side by side. At the foot of the Mid-Levels is the location of Wan Mausoleum, facing the mountain and facing the water, with a wide view. It is indeed a treasure trove of feng shui. Through the lush cornfields, I came to a large lush watermelon field, which is the former site of Wang Rui's tomb. According to reports, in the 1940s, the scale of Wang Rui's tomb was still magnificent, with many stone tablets, columns and beasts. The most mysterious thing is that there are no words on these monuments. Therefore, "Wang Rui Tomb" is also commonly known as "Monument Tomb". The grave keeper kept his mouth shut and kept a historical secret. No one outside knew the true identity of the grave owner. After liberation, after many times of land consolidation, the "Wang Rui Tomb" was razed to the ground, and all monuments such as stone tablets were destroyed. Why didn't you leave any words when you rebuilt the mausoleum? Only historians can solve this historical mystery.
