He Xiangu ~ one of the Eight Immortals, formerly known as He Qiong, is the daughter of He Dalang, the founder of Wuping. Xiangu was born in Dingyou, the second year of Tianfu in the Later Jin Dynasty (AD 937). During her lifetime, she collected herbal medicines everywhere to treat illnesses and save people. She fought for the injustices of the people and rescued people in distress. She was deeply loved by the people. She was also able to promote the health and longevity of life through practice, and lived to be 150 years old.
He Xiangu had a pure nature when she was young. She did not eat wine or eat meat.
One day He Xiangu came here and saw that the entire stone mountain was shaped like a lion, like a giant beak to drive away demons and ghosts. She looked tall and mighty at the whole small town. She was so majestic that she decided to make this place a In her own dojo, the immortal girl has been practicing in the lion's mouth since then!
While practicing, a monk came one day and claimed to be Zheng Ziyan (now Dingguang Buddha) from Tong'an, Quanzhou Prefecture. He also fell in love with the treasure land of Nan'an Rock and wanted to make this place his own dojo. Seeing that the fairy was sitting in the middle practicing, he went up to discuss with her, but the fairy refused. Dingguang Buddha was dissatisfied and thought, "I have traveled all over the world and I have never seen such a comfortable and beautiful place. How can I give up?" So he also sat aside and refused to leave.
After many years, Dingguang Buddha saw that He Xiangu still had no intention of making concessions, so he came up with a way to secretly send someone to tell Xiangu that her old father was seriously ill at Ningyang's home, and sent a message to let him know. The fairy aunt quickly went home to visit. After hearing this, the fairy aunt hurried home and saw her father staying at home safe and sound. The fairy suddenly realized that she had been fooled. When she returned to the dojo, she saw Dingguang Buddha already sitting in her seat.
The angry fairy tried every means to get Dingguang Buddha to give up his throne, but no matter how he tried to persuade Dingguang Buddha, he refused to get up because he knew that this place was too important to him. In desperation, He Xiangu climbed to the top of the Lion Rock, aimed at the top of Dingguang Buddha's head and stepped on it three times. The lion's cave immediately sank three feet. Two feet (to this day, you can still clearly see the traces of Dingguang Buddha's head on his head, which is round in shape)
The fairy knew that there was nothing she could do about this powerful Dingguang Buddha, so she got angry and went to the cave. There was a puddle of urine at the top (thousands of years have passed, and there are still drops of water at that location).
Helpless, the dojo was taken away by others, and He Xiangu could only find other places to practice. But she didn’t want to lose such a beautiful dojo, so she found a Feng Shui treasure land on the right to continue her practice!
For thousands of years, this story has often been mentioned by the elderly: Dingguang Buddhist Hall and the statue of He Xiangu are always full of incense, because they all have the same desire to eliminate harm to the people. Our God of salvation!
I didn’t expect that our Xiaowuping would actually live in seclusion with these two patron saints, one immortal and one Buddha. I only saw how important the environment, geographical location, and people here are to the legendary immortal family! ! !
