Historical Background of Baisha Town, jiangjin district, Chongqing
Baisha Town has a long history, and its ancestors lived and multiplied here as early as 5,000 years ago. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, people lived in close communities and formed villages. According to the textual research of books such as "Shu Zhong Guang Ji" and "Taiping Guang Ji", in the Tang Dynasty, Baisha was famous for its extraordinary weather. According to the Records of Nine Domains of Yuanfeng (published by Song Shenzong Yuanfeng in the eighth year, namely 1085), Volume 8 records: "In the fourth year of Yongxi, Nanping County was merged into Jiangjin. One hundred and twenty miles south of Jiangjinfu, there are seven towns ... including Han Dong, Pumice, Baisha, Changsha, Shengli, Shiyang, Yulan, Inspiration, Shigu, Shaxi, Xianchi, Pingtan, Shidong and Sanmei ". Baisha Town was built in Song Taizong in the 4th year of Yongxi (AD 987) and has a history of thousands of years. Later, Yuan, Ming and Qing all set up towns here. After the middle and late Qing Dynasty, Baisha, relying on the benefits of water and postal service, increasingly highlighted the role of regional material distribution center, becoming not only the main waterway in eastern and southern Sichuan, but also an important market town on the postal route in Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan. During the Republic of China, a town office was set up, and Baisha was the third office in Jiangjin County. 1949165438+129 October, after the peaceful liberation of Baisha, the people's government of the fifth district was established, which governed five towns including Baisha, Sankou, ji zi, Tanghe and Yongxing. 1951April, Jiangjin county people's government moved to Baisha town, and Baisha became the seat of county administration. 1July, 956, the county government moved back to Chengguan Town (i.e. Jijiang Town), and Baisha withdrew its land to set up a town. 1970, Baisha Town Revolutionary Committee was established. 1980, Baisha town people's government was established.
